The four squares is to light up the street and highway signs. If at the right angle you could shine it by the guy coming toward you and they would think you have high beams on. I got flashed plenty of times...

That is correct, now imagine a light source over three times as bright going thru those same squares. Most stock HID projectors have a straight across cut off which is what I was going for. Although being these projectors arent true HID projectors alot of light is concentrated in the center and not evenly dispersed as with stock HID. So youll have some hotspots but they still work very well.... With the squares covered my glare is minimized. My lights for the most part wont blind others coming towards me. And they provide plenty of upward light so i still illuminate signs.

So if those squares are also for road signs, wouldn't the best scenerio be to block off the squares on the drivers side, and leave the passenger side uncovered?

Yeah that would be an option as well, but I went all in and can say that road signs are still very visible.
Ideally you could even block 3 of the 4 holes leaving the outermost passenger side one uncovered.

I even factored in when I was behind people as well.
Now when im behind someone at the stop light my HIDs are from their rear bumper down with barely no upward glare.

If I ever open my lights to install LED turn signals i'll open the projectors and do them better and perhaps change the lens if I can find one.
A true HID projector lens would project and scatter the light much better.

HID kits are not made for specific vehicle brands and car models they are made for the different bulb types. For instance, my 2006 Sonata uses H7 low beam bulbs so I used a kit for that type of bulb. Fits perfectly but it was not made specifically for my car.

I'm also in the need of a HID for my Hyundai Sonata. I read up on specs online, and apparently the 09 Sonata already has HID. Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you just need a replacement bulb to get that effect? I was originally considering switching the bulb to a cool blue but none of the auto stores have em. Not even in the catalog. Where is the cheapest place i can get the HID. I've only heard on one website which was the hidguy, but it's not within my budget. Is there anywhere that's cheaper?
