Slacker, I know...
Here is the start of the tutorial for adding HIDs into the 2009 Sonata.
1) Unplug the headlight power wire from headlight assembly, one on each headlight.
2) Remove the two bolts from the top of the headlight (10mm socket wrench)
3) Gently pry the headlight off of the car, be careful as you can scratch your paint.
4) Once the headlight is off take it to your workspace.

7) Pull the black connector piece out of the headlight, you'll need to remove the wired H11B connector on the bottom (This un-clips), and remove the lip that holds it in place. The reason being is this is what stops an ordinary H11 bulb from locking into place.
8) Now there are two ways to fix it so a h11 bulb will fit.
A) You can dremel or file it down so its flat (I did this)

The most important thing is to not alter where the headlight bulb twists into, there is no modifications needed here. You need to remove the excess on the bottom of the black piece for the bulb to lock into place. This lip held the previous H11B connector in place. Once this is completed you can reattach the black piece with the three screws, unless your doing the next step which is easier to accomplished with the piece removed. Make sure to reattach when completed, this is what holds your headlight bulb in place.
9) This is optional but highly recommended. Have you looked at the light your headlights cast? Did you notice each beam has two boxes over the pattern? Well these need to be covered so you wont blind oncoming traffic. They are two small squares in the projector housing (See pic)
http://img372.imageshack.us/my.php?image=imag0011pj8.jpgWhat I used was 3m Flue Tape with a 600 degree rated temperature, cutting two small squares for each headlight and using a retractable wand with double sided tape at the end to reach in and cover them, it wasn't easy.
http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=imag0012ai6.jpg10) You'll need to splice the wires inside the headlight housing to accommodate your new HIDs. I used male/female connectors from the local auto parts store. I put the females on the headlight wires and used the males on the HID kit. Cut the black and yellow wires close to the old H11B connector and use the newly purchased connectors in its place, one on each wire (2).
11) Splice your HID kit power wires to fit the new connectors, they crimp on and hold pretty tight. You can get silicon to seal them if you want, I did not at this time. Purchase connectors that are shielded. They would go on the kit where the two metal plug things are in this picture.
http://plasmagarage.com/images/Metal_Tab1.jpg12) Find a location to mount the ballasts. My kit is the DDM slim ballast kit so its simple to mount. I purchased industrial strength Velcro which is water resistant. My ballasts are mounted on the side fenders off to the side of the headlights. If you look in my engine compartment you wont even notice them. One side on the ballast and small ignitor and one side on the surface of the vehicle.
13) You'll need to cut a slightly less then one inch hole in the headlight dust cover piece (That screws into the headlight) so you can fit the HID bulb and power wires through. To me this was the most difficult thing. You may want someone with a drill press to do this which would be much easier, and cleaner.
14) Run your HID wires through the newly formed hole and use the rubber grommet (supplied with kit) to seal said hole.
15) Put your H11 HID bulb into the headlight housing, twist, and lock it into place, connect your newly formed wires from the HID kit to your stock headlight wires. Connect the kit to the ballasts, screw the headlight dust shield on and fasten the headlight into place. Reconnect your power wire back into the headlight assembly.
** When putting the headlight back on the car be aware of how much your tightening the bolts. Too much torque will crack the plastic on the top of the headlight if you over do it.
This setup is very capable of igniting the bulbs without a problem. I've never gotten the one bulb on one bulb off issue, where you would be required to use a wire harness. You could buy one if need be......
If anyone needs a better explanation I would be happy to offer when time permits.
