Okay, so I'm not REALLY leaving.
In fact, the Sonata will still be under my watchful and loving care.
However, it is going to change hands... My sister, 23, has finally gone
about getting her license. Hence she needs a car to drive.
I'm going to make sure she keeps the car as clean as I did.
Come summer, I'll still wash it, clean the interior, etc...

Now here comes the good part. The new car is
A MBZ C300 4matic!!
White exterior (yes.. i had to convert)
Black interior (I love light colored interiors like the Sonata's but it gets dirty SO easily)

I got the premium package II (P2), multimedia package, and panoramic roof
which includes everything from P1
- Garage door opener
- rain sensing intermittent wipers
- memory seats (memorizes seat positions, not like...tempurpedic seats)
- rearview with integrated compass
- Sirius satellite radio (+6 months free subscription)

Premium Package 2 (P2) includes

- split folding rear seats
- power rear sunshade
- heated headlamp washers
- Bi-xenon headlamps
- corner-illuminating foglamps
- LED tail lamps

Multimedia package includes

-COMAND navigation system with 40GB hard drive (6GB for ripping music)
-Harmon-Kardon LOGIC 7 surround sound system with Dolby Digital 5.1
-Voice control for audio, navigation, telephone

+Panoramic roof option
+ Seven-speed automatic transmission with touch shift.

My personal FAVORITE is the panoramic roof option.
The glossy black roof contrasting against the white paint is AMAZING.
Were I not getting the panoramic roof I would probably have chosen the black exterior.

All in all I LOVE the car. I'll probably be going in to get it sometime next weekend.
The only thing left to contemplate is if I should upgrade to the 18" AMG-style rims.
They run close to $2000 and I'm going to have to sleep on it for a week.

Now I want you guys to know I'm not bailing out on the Hyundai 'community'.
I will still be a daily visitor on the forum, and don't be surprised if I have any pictures of new dings and such once my sister starts driving my car.
I will probably still use the Sonata from time to time.
This December I'm planning a trip to UMich @ Ann Arbor, MI and I will probably put the miles on the Sonata.
It was my first new car and I loved it for all 73,000 miles.
I just wanted to get the good (bad?) news out there!

I am thoroughly excited. :w00t:

We will miss you Willayy!!!. You have been with us under multiple names,

but there can be only one you.

From the good times, to going away to School, to getting kicked out of School

Housing & living in the Sonata ( all this while trying to grow your Brain!). Then

getting arrested, losing your License for a Year while still improving your young

life. Why OhSnapItsWillayy, we are going to miss you. What

did that mean?. What did your new name mean? What business are you actually

in out there? Are you going to follow your passion for Criminal Justice? Good luck

to you my long time 06 V6 Sonata friend  :trophy:

Thanks Miami.

Oh Snap Its Willay. Meant just that, literally.

DCJW LEE is an acronym for my immediate family

I am actually in the wholesale jewelry business,

a little gem my father left for me when he passed.

and yes, I am still following my passion for CRJ.

I am currently studying at John Jay College of Crimnal Justice in Manhattan

Military/Police sciences is my major. It is MUCH more exciiting than what I was

learning at SJU before I got kicked out.

I don't know why. But the Sonata gets better mpg than the C300 despite having a larger engine 3.3 v 3.0 and more hp 239 v 228....Perhaps the C's 3600 lb weight has something to do with it...

The 3600 pound weight and the fact that the MB is all wheel drive. Higher friction and drag in the transmission and drivetrain.

Congrats on the car. Make sure to buy an extended warranty on the car if you plan on keeping it past its warranty. I am usually not for any extended warranty but from what I heard if you have a MB or BMW you end up paying severely if they are out of warranty.

Please drive more carefully, willay, take better care of the Benz than the Sonata, it's a much more expensive car to jump curbs with.

And send your lil sis here, Mama's tired of all those male chauvinists here.

I agree. I remember Consumer Reports going on and on about how not a single Mercedes Benz model is "recommended", but every single Subaru model is. I would buy the extended warranty in this case!

Wow, birds of a feather ... kind of. We recently decided we needed another car and came across a deal we couldn't pass up. An immaculate 2002 that just turned 27k on the odometer. The fact that Gretta was black sealed the deal. :) Got her from my ex-bosses mother-in-law who could no longer drive due to medical reasons. So Gracie has a sister now.

But yeah, send your Sis to the forums. She could learn a lot. :57: And congrats on the new ride !

Congrats on the Merc!

My father works for Mercedes and we have had one (or two) in the family ever since I was born. They certainly aren't cheap to fix and aren't the most reliable vehicles ever but it makes up for any shortcomings in the driving experience.

Post more pictures when you get a chance!!!

Sooo, I was supposed to pick up the car last night.
But I got a call around noon yesterday...bad news.

The car was damaged during delivery...
It's not a big deal though.. apparently the antenna broke somehow.
Originally they thought it was just the 'shark fin' cover but something under the actual antenna that sticks out was broken. He explained it was a disc like object that broke. They don't have the parts in stock so they have to wait for it..

Real bummer.

Here's the semi-good part.
I got a free loaner to use for a week and it's also a C300, so I get to preview and get used to the car before I actual get my own...

Only thing is it's missing the 'multimedia package' and panorama roof.

The car should be ready by the middle of next week..sooooo...pics will be up then too.

I'm a little bummed over this...
Not the best way to get a 'new' car..

Maybe better now than after you picked it up? :)

less than 48 hours after getting my Chevy Blazer (my pre-hyundai vehicle) I got a nice big chip in the windshield.

Took it back to the dealership and they replaced it for free... but I let out some 4 letter words... many that started with F when that happened :)

It took that long?

When I bought my Montero Sport (also my pre-Hyundai vehicle), I got a rock chip directly in my line of sight ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALER. I hadn't had the thing for 15 minutes.

I wasn't as lucky as you either. The dealer basically said, "We didn't do it and it's not a defect in the glass. It's Houston, get used to it." Fortunately, the rock chip repair thing works better than I thought it would and I couldn't see the chip afterwards (unless I looked REALLLLLY hard to find it).

dcjwlee, sorry about the new ride and congrats on the loaner. At least they didn't leave you high and dry, or try to pull the wool over your eyes and hide something. Sounds like you found a dealer that actually cares about the buyer.
