Perhaps there was terrestrial or intergalactic interference and the Satellites were down.

Chances are it will break again but it is fully covered for 3 Years or 36,000 Miles so who knows?

Hum never had a problem with mine.....However on the XM band, every once in a while the presets at the top will all show 1's across there until you hit one, then they reset back to what they were. Only happened a couple times on me, so not too bad I guess!

The nav units seem to have lots of problems. They are on national backorder so many are failing.
I have replaced so many that I can do it in under 10 minutes now lol

Ohio Port Employee, could you elaborate on the extent and nature of the problems? How likely would any buyer of a Limited with NAV be for having a problem would you say? Isn't this a Hyundai engineered system? What seems to be the problem?

This is disturbing, as the NAV is a major reason I'm considering a Limited.

There seems to be some discussion that Hyundai will use another NAV system in the near future... ie, the Synch system.

Most failures are the screen not lighting or lighting all white. Some don't power on at all, and some will say it can't read the map data when trying to use the navigation.
Hyundai seems to be plagued this year with Infinity products. I have been replacing the 6 disc Infinity changers in the Sonatas as well as the Infinity amps in the Santa Fe. The non limited model radios are mostly problem free it seems.
Right now if an Infinity head or nav fails the dealer is looking at 4 to 9 weeks to get 1. Thats the average time it takes to get 1 where I work.

Thanks for the info. I should have gotten the limited without the nav. But i thought it would be a nice feature. But i think it might be a head ache. If it keeps giving me problems i will put a for sale sign on it after its fixed and go get me a used acura tl. I had a 2002 acura Tl type S and it was a great car!! No problems at all. Same with my 2001 Accord with 186,000 miles on it. But i love the way Sonata's look and the features you get for your money.
