Hi,
I am new to the Tiburon seen and just bought a 97 1.8L manual. The car has a new motor in it and I have been noticing that some times when I put the clutch in and come to a stop the engine will rev up between 2000 and 3000 RPM. I am not sure what to do now, I have checked the throttle cable and have fixed afew sensors that had bad connections.

I have red about this problem on the net and apperently it is quite common?

any help would be awesome.

Thanks all

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recyrc?

I have replaced the Throttle Positioning Sensor, and it seemed to fix it for like 5 days. It seems everytime I reset my ECU it stops doing it for about a week. I am at a loss here and I can't figure it out.
How hard is it to replace the EGR valve, and also can this problem be caused by the Mass Air Flow sensor?

thanks for the input.

I had the same problem on my 00, mine was fixed by changing the TPS sensor. Found one at a junk yard and pulled it off of a 99.
Good luck

Dear poolieo,

did you register with hmaservice.com? Check for a Tech Service Bulletin on your problem...I know it exists.
