I just filled my tank today after doing 40 Highway miles and 150 City Miles.... but these were no ordinary City Miles...

These were SANDWICH DELIVERY City Miles!!
Basically, I mashed the gas pedal to the floor every time I used it at all, to get the sandwiches to were they needed to go on-time.

19.67 MPG

How's that for sh!tty? lol

I guess it's still pretty good considering it's Philly, so the blocks are short, the lights aren't timed properly, and I ran it up to 6,500 RPM on almost every launch. hahaha

Sooooo maybe the 6,500rpm's would explain the low gas mileage? I mean even when i am heavy on the gas, i still never take it past 4,000rpm's.

Taking the car that high in rpm's will indeed lower the life of your engine. The accent does get the lowest acceleration in it's class, so i understand how you feel the need to gun it, especially in Philly, but take it a bit easier on your car and i bet you will notice a difference, even if it gets you a few angry gestures.

Try not taking it past 4000rpms for one FULL tank and come back with your updated mpg. That's my challenge to you

MOST EXTREME TANK, EVER!!!

finally grew some balls let my dummy light come on, thankfully i was just around the corner from a Shell station, so i decided to let this tank run way down!

filled up with 9.792 gallons@ $3.779/gallon (mid grade) for total of $37.00

put ticket in fuelclinic.com...

LATEST TANK : 35.03MPG

PREVIOUS TANK : 34.64MPG

AVERAGE : 32.31MPG

this last tank was mostly highway, and had a few "races" on it... but drove it pretty conservative, nothing over 3500RPMs, got 343 miles on this tank too, last tank 330 miles... i love watching my milage go UP!!!!!

Personally, I don't consider anything near 3,500 RPM "race"-worthy lol. At least 5,000 for it to shift to the next gear and land in its peak power band.

i was in you situation also but not as bad as you did this time. i was in 29 28 but i just decide to drive granny style because its killing me the gas prices. if you shift at 5K the only thing you are doing is killing your engine and not going fast enough as you want. I dont know if makes sense but DONT DO THAT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!

Nice going Torbo .
Now your getting into my range.
I regularly let mine shift between 2800 and 3600 ,so you can be heavy on the gas and still get good mileage.Just staying under the 4000-4500 range helps.

On my accent I get 380-390 kms out of 32-35 liters.

Extremely bad fuel economy.. or fuel waste in my case.

In gallons well I use the converter on the net...

So its 400 divided by 32 = 12.5 liters and the gallon converter on the net shows it as 3.19 gallons ? lol

My all time record was 440ish if I remember well.. and my gas light was on for a good 30 km's. I had only floored the car 1 time during that tank to pass a car on the road. I usually drive max 80 km/h with no autoroute driving during the week.
