Greetings all... I'm back again...

03 Accent GL

Tonight on the way over to a friends house the Door and Trunk idiot lights would dimly flicker, when they flickered the tach and speedometer would stay at their current reading. Flickering went out for a bit and the tach and speedometer resumed correct readings.

Trip odometer still continued to count. Everything else was working. (Headlights, Radio, etc...)

Parked car at the friends house for a couple of hours and when I went to start it, all the dashboard idiot lights flickered, No Crank, No Headlights...

Opened the driver door and no Dome light. Was about to get out and the dome light popped on, turned the key and it all started up fine.

Didn't flicker at all on the way home 7 km's

Has anyone experienced this before, sounds to me like a possible flaky connection or ground?

Any ideas on which module to check first?

I am going to paw through the schematics on the tech site this weekend.

Thanks!

Update...

Nasty engine whine from speakers with the radio on or off.

Got a meter out and schematics today looking for power problems. Didn't happen at all while the dash covers were removed.

Took the car for a drive after putting everything back, when I stopped at the store and shut the key off the odometer blanked out as well.

Turned key to run and nothing... Shut key off and waited, within 2 minutes the odometer display came back, turned key and it started...

Very Weird, but I'm told electrical problems can be the toughest to fix.

Going to locate and check all ground points tomorrow.
