I have an 01 elantra and it isn't starting. When I try to start it it just kicks and kicks but never fires up. It has happened to me before and I've taken the fuel pump out, took it apart and back together and it actually started. I also pulled the plugs at the same time. But before I did all this you could tell that the pump was not priming. That was 2 months ago and now it won't start again. The pump is not priming. I was thinking maybe a relay. I know which one it is but not where to get it. Do I have to order it from a dealer? Could it actually be the pump itself that I need to replace? Thanks

It's probably a sensor. If the sensors are not giving the fuel system the expected results, the fuel pump is not turned on. The most likely culprit is the crankshaft position sensor.
