Right now I am 250 miles from home and my alternator is sitting in my back seat. Why you may ask.... Because I'm at my wife's parents home and my father in law is helping me install this alternator with the help of his brother in law. We were supposed to be back by this friday. I hit a snag. My alternator won't run without my external voltage regulator due to the fact the guy who built mine made it so it would only work that way and NOT plug into the factory wire harness. So I must do a custom wire job and make for **** sure everything runs at 12 volts. Wish me luck :)

His bro in law is getting a big fat fish from me and my father in law is getting a BIG steak for this!

I'm trying to find my engine block chassie to ground wire so I can but 4 gauge wire and make the wire bigger. Same with:
1) Battery negative to chassis -obviously this wire is your neg battery cable.
2) Alternator to battery positive - red positive on battery

3rd wire.. Engine block to ground on chassis - The wire I need to find.

I did and to answer my own question.. You need to connect your 0 gauge wire to any bolt on the engine that doesn't hold fluid and run that to the sheet metal removing paint and adding anti corrosion paste to it.

the factory chassis ground connects to the motor at the passenger side motor mount. Its a wide flat braided steel cable. Should be mounted near the passenger side strut tower.
