Test drove an 09 Limited yesterday. The car, at least on the surface, is an astonishingly handsome and well-equipped vehicle. It's a lot easier to come by a I4 Nav Limited Sonata than either Camry or Accord... and the car just looks fantastic. The ride was slightly tighter, less wallowy than our 04 Camry, to boot.
My brother-in-law owned one of the first Hyundai's in the US -- one of the $4999 Excels, circa 1985. It wasn't a positive experience. He could probably to this day recite the car's tune of major mechanical problems, syncopated with daily aggravations. My wife is skeptical. We'll see.
Just curious... why so few accessories?
I notice the Canadian site has far more in the way of accessories... I'm particularly looking for a sweet roof rack... this Canadian rack looks a lot better than the somewhat crude Thule and Yakima models:
