Picked up my '08 Santa Fe last friday and started going over the vehicle, found a bag with 4 oval shaped plugs. Before asking the dealer, thought I would ask here first. What are they for? Wasn't there was a thread about this a while back? No luck after a few searches and browing topic titles on 21 pages. Any help woud be appreicated, thanks...Joe. :)

they are frame plugs i do believe to cover the tie down holes
same as the ones on the sonata they should have been installed by the dealer

check out the pdf use acrobat reader

i would think they are in the same area on the santa fe

Hey..I am glad I read this post..I was thinking.."Don't I have a bag like that". I went and looked and surprise..surprise...there they were. I called 2 friends (1 SF owner and 1 Sonata) and both found that their plugs hadn't been installed either and we all live in 3 separate states.

I'd be curious how many people actually have had these installed correctly during the pre-delivery.

Thanks for the information...my plugs are now in...10 months after deliver. :w00t:

I didn't know what the heck they were either. Sure am glad I saved them.

Will be installing them tomorrow.

Thanks for bringing up the subject.

And just when I was beginning to think I knew everything there was to know about the Santa Fe..................................................................................

it is quite common that dealerships don't plug these in when checking over the vehicle. There is a list of other things they are supposed to do as well, which was probably half assed if they missed throwing in the plugs.

yea i sell hyundais and i see them on the lot everywhere.

PDI techs don't do anything but put the fuse in. the are suppose to check the tire pressure(which they don't) and fill up washer fluid, check all the functionalities but they hardly ever do lol

I will agree with the comment on the PDI problems. My S.F. was brought to my dealer from their "sister" dealership on the other side of town. They told me it would be ready in the afternoon after they did a PDI on it again. Oddly enough, when I went to pick it up, the anti-freeze reservoir wasnt even filled to the "Cold" line, the washer fluid was low and there was still a plastic bag on one of the 1/2 of the back seat. Its pretty sad that TWO PDI's still didnt fix these problems. I guess the Techs just sign off if they walk by the car. Oh well....if thats the worst part of the purchase, I am happy.
