first off, why do we have a button that says "start a poll" if we cant use it???

second, dont hold back!!! i dont care what you think or how you feel just say it!!!!!

should i leave the forum???? i dont think the past month is fair judgment for i beleive that i am only speaking for those who keep quite. every one thinks it but no one says so and slowly but surely the newbies take over and the forum then looks like a rampant orgy of nonsensicle b.s. which i find dispicable. what ever happened to the days where critisizim was taken in stride and those critisized longed to be so. no one likes to be right and loved all the time, at least no one with true character. i appologize for my shinanigans and attacks towards a select few, but i do also condem those who do not stand up for your longest of friends. and those who sit back and watch as one tries to fend off a few and then post in their favor...

so, whos against me?

l don't quite understand what your gripe is or why you have posted in the 'accent' forum. perhaps it would be better if you sent a p.m. to myself or one of the other senior moderators explaining what your problem is, in the meantime l am moving this to another forum

Montego: He posted it here because otherwise we (the people that read this forum and read what he has to say) wouldn't see it if he posted it anywhere else. I can't speak for everyone else, but I only read the 3g forum and don't really care about what's going on with the Santa Fe's.

Nobodies: Sometimes you're a bit blunt and we can't hear you talking so any kind of sarcasm or poking fun can be easily interpreted as mean or hurtful when put into text. There's no reason for you to go. You don't even need to change your tone. Just try to put a little more "constructiveness" in your criticisim; if your post happens to be critical.

To tell you the truth, you're one of the most entertaining ones on here, I like reading your posts.

um.. i think everyone has to get a handle of the words=text phononemon of the internet.
.. you dont take anything anyone says online and on this forum to heart... if that's you, log off and go get some friends.
i understand nobodies and what he says and have never had a problem, so i dont beef.
I understand that emotion of any sorts CANNOT be conveyed with text hence the over-use of the emoticons.
I agree with what he's saying though, the forum, expecially over the past few months has been filled with newbies and people acting like they're a ferrarri mechanic that have a few posts and are critisizing what a more senior member has said.
.. that that theres anything wrong with it, but the forum needs less ego and more togetherness.
.. I dont frequent this forum as much as i did mainly because theres the same posts over an over, theres rarely a use of the [finicky] search engine on this site, despite the pleas of others.
so yea, i have nobodies back on this matter.. as I have anyones back that adresses a valid point. Im assuming this thread is going to get large because people will take it personally, the mods will defend.. and in the end it'll get forced to the bottom by a thread entitled "How Can I Mke this car go FASTERRR????!"
i know theres some users on here that dislike me.. but it doesnt bother me, you meet people in like that you just dont like, the internet is full of them. so take comments at face value and dont lose sleep wondering if nobodies meant what he said to you on the alternator thread.

stand by your friends, and educate those that arnt.

edit: i forgot to mention something that i see all the time.. these one-line, snappy, condescending comments.. not a fan.

Stay, You're all right in my book. Your comments don't keep me up at night.

i think this has to do with the accent COMMUNITY.. sorry and i dont mean to disrespect, but why is this forum run in such a militant style. Clearly Nobodies has brought up something that affects us all in the 3G forum and anyone else on this site.
Nobodies used his username as a sort of catalyst to bring these issues up, so i dont see why the mods are trying to keep this forum uber 'organized' when a user has brought up an issue regarding the use of this site.
please dont waste your time battling with something someone brought up on a FORUM. This could be a forum about cars, horses or Egyptian linen.. the fact of the matter is that a member of YOUR forum, a member of the Accent 3G forum wrote something that should be used as a learning tool for you mods.
so instead of debating wether or not we all hate eachother or if nobodies conscience is typing, how about having focused time on improving the existing search engine on this site, or something positive instead of just moving posts and defending the move all the time.
frustrating.

oh, and thanks Rondy.. i figured something needed to be said.

The point is this is a Hyundai Forum and posts have to be put in their respective categories. I can guarantee you that if the post was left in the Accent forum someone that drives a Tiburon would chime in with their two cents and everyone with an Accent would jump all over that person "because he/she has a Tiburon" and doesn't have any say so in the matter. It happens all over the forum, all of the time.

It's kind of akin to someone that's just joined and only has four or five posts and replies to a technical mechanical question and everyone starts in on him. Well, low and behold - he's an ASE Certified Master Hyundai mechanic. Too late though, his valuable input has been ran off the forum by all of the >1000 posts "experts".

The forum is laid out the way it is to keep everything organized, versus having one main forum called "Free for All" with everyone posting whatever they want about flies off their keyboard - imagine the mess. It would be impossible for anyone new to find anything relevant about the 3G Accent without having to read all of the posts about the weather, other car makes, the funniest joke someone has ever read in their life, latest funny YouTube video, etc. - you get the point. In the sub-forums posts have to be about what the forum is there for to begin with. In this case, the 3G Accent. There's a place for everything for the most part and if something is posted where it doesn't belong nine times out of ten it will get moved. We are very lenient, so if there's something even remotely on-topic to a specific forum we'll leave it alone.

@ nobodies - None of your threads or comments have really been brought to my attention so I'm presently neutral. If you have Any doubt about what you're posting just re-read the rules. The biggest no-no is personal attacks, those will get you in trouble posthaste. A good rule of thumb to follow as well is don't post up something that will bring a lot of heat your way and then get offended by that heat.

With that said, the 3G Accent forum is not it's own little private entity. It's a small piece of the bigger picture ... the Hyundai Forums. I suppose the only way to really have a 3G Accent forum stand on its own would be to register www.3g-accent.com or something similar.

As far as posting etiquette I completely agree with OneTwenty. Things that are meant as sarcasm, or just a friendly jab in the ribs, often come across completely wrong just for the fact that you can't see that persons' emotions - were they smiling when they typed that or were they being completely serious ?? That's the purpose for the emoticons, and the reason they're called that. To try and give a glimpse of what that poster was feeling when they typed all that non-descript text. Are they overused ? Possibly so, but they're still needed. It would be totally different if instead of replies we had "video replies" or something like that. Then you would know without a doubt how that poster wanted to come across with both visible emotions and the tone of their voice.

The forum as a whole just needs to have everyone act civilized, act like you would if you were talking to someone in person. Sure, we all have our areas of the forum where we hang out most of the time but these are not private areas and when others bring their thoughts to the table they should not be criticized because they drive a different model car. That is one of the big fight starters on the entire forum, I'm not singling this one out. I rarely come here unless someone reports a problem. If there is a problem then just use the "Report this post to a moderator" button and it will be looked at by one of us. Most times that's how a post that is off-topic for a particular thread comes to be known - someone reading it reports it. It's not like we go trolling around looking for mis-categorized posts or threads.

Everyone just get along, have fun, and share knowledge and experience about this common interest we all have. :57: <climbs off of soap box>

Onetwenty well said.
Nobodies I still like ya,even though you can be a lil blunt.I'm used to a lil' "artistic" critisism.
The main thing that bothers me on here is starting a new thread directly related to one just posted within a day or too for the sake of post count.
