Possible Platinum Edition scratch I need to itch.....

Just a few general questions re the Platinum Edition Sonata. Was it only produced in the 07 model year or did they continue the run into 08? What if any NF Sonata 06 - 08 is offered with black interior beside the Platinum. Do we have any Platinum owners here that can share their experience with the car. I assume it is the same as others. Any specific likes/dislikes associated with that edition. And finally, any members in the NE area looking to move to 09 :grin: Thanks for any info C.J.

The all Black interior and Black leather seats are very nice in my car. The exterior doesn't look any different than a regular Sonata. I also like the Infinity sound system(IMG:http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj287/wymi/Sonata008-1.jpg)

Just like any other Sonata, however my car lacks TPMS and XM though. But the Platinum edition badging still makes me feel special.

I think the Hyundai Sonata Platinum Edition is unique only to 2007. Article

No TPMS or XM? Whats your build date? First thing I did when I got the car home was to take off all the badges, including the Platinum Edition ones.

So you are saying there was no Platinum Edition in 07, and that the Limited

is now what the Platinum Edition was if I read this right. What was my LX? :P

I bought my mother a Platinum Edition in late November 2007. There were two on the lot... one with XM and TPMS, and one without. XM and TPMS only became standard on 2007 models that rolled off the line somewhere around October 2007.

The Platinum Edition Sonata was only offered in 2007. It varied from the regular Limited model in that it offered rear spoiler (this became standard on the SE as of 2008), Platinum badging, black interior (I don't think black interior was even an option on the Limited until 2008... could be wrong), "platinum" side molding, and Platinum Edition floor mats.

If you're *dying* to have a Platinum Edition, snag an 08 Limited, Silver on Black, throw on a rear spoiler, and voila... you'll have yourself a Platinum.

man what I wouldnt do for an all black interior with all the dash light swap to blue, and blue neon glow from under the dash on the driver and pass side! I have the green glow now, but the blue would look so sweet!!

Sept 26, 2006. I think XM/TPMS was included with Platinum the month after mine was built.

The TPMS would be nice to have, but I'd never pay for XM or use it, so that is fine with me.

Thanks for all the replys. Sorry..NE is New England area. I wouldn't say I'm dying for Platinum Edition, but I do like the black interior. So it seems from a response that black was offered in the 08 limited. Thanks C.J.
