THERE - IT'S MODDED. :460: lol!
(IMG:http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/hoosieraccent/etc/leds/led_03.jpg)

Simple, easy, inexpensive yet effective install. All this is are two small LED accent lights that contain 3 blue LED's with a diffusing lens. ($3.95 each from superbrightleds.com) They are mounted via double-sided tape to the side of the console in front of the heater vent. (let's see how the tape hold up this winter when the heater runs. lol! :P)

(IMG:http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/hoosieraccent/etc/leds/led_01.jpg)

I spliced their wiring into a cigarette lighter plug I had laying around. So it's completely reverseble at a moment's notice.

(IMG:http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/hoosieraccent/etc/leds/led_07.jpg)

Seems to give just the right amount of glow down there, I likey. :) Maybe sometime I can get out the tripod and get some pics that are actually in focus.

Not yet, but I can get some for you tomorrow if I get around to it. :)

Basically I have this AA/AAA battery charger that came with a 12V cigarette lighter plug so you could charge it in the car.. I never used the plug so I cut the end off. Cut the wiring on the LED's to the right length to not be too long and spliced that in. The wiring is all tucked in neatly into the console as to not look too ghetto.

im going to buy a pack of 50 or so and reapply the lights in side my heating vents cuse half of them have burnt out in a year. im also goin to put a couple in the door map holders, and a couple in the back facing the roof. and if i get real creative i might put some under glow on the car. there are 5 little holes under the car on each side, i hav no idea what they are for but some of those lights you have look like they would fit. also ill put a couple in the grille area to show that off

The small holes are drainage holes, so don't plug them up. Accent lights are cool. But why no just wire them into the 12v wires instead of using a 12v plug? You can use aligator claps for this. I'm looking at doing this mod as well sometime later next year just before the car shows.

lol you should take a look then cuse the ones on my car are plugged already. maybe its mounts for the sr body kit or something. and what is gonna drain out of them any ways? it should be sealed. it would be a stupid move by hyunda to allow water to flow throught parts of the under carrige. that spells out rust to me

To answer the questions about the wiring, I didn't want to splice into any existing wiring and wasn't sure where I would even want to mount a switch to control them. So the cigarette lighter plug won for simplicity. :)

It's the gray plug. The wiring and connections where it is all spliced together is hidden underneath the storage box.

Here's another pic, this one taken from the back:

Thanks for the complements guys. Driving it to work every morning in the dark, I really like how it turned out. To think Hyundai has a kit that they charge over $200 to get the same effect, lol!

It looks good my friend, but why dont you add a switch to activate it?

I'll admit a more permanent wiring method with a switch would be more ideal... But I did this mainly because I have a no cut/hack/splice and drill policy on this car and Hyundai left me no good place to pop a switch in without doing any permanent damage. I just unplug them if I want to turn them off. I kinda miss the way my Vibe was, it had several rectangular blank panels to the left of the wheel you could pop out and Toyota makes switches that fit exactly in that space. :( I had all kinds of switches hooked up in that thing.

I have thought about getting an OEM fog light switch (found them online at rockauto.com for around $20) and putting that in place of the existing switch blank... That would give me a nice stealthy look and no permanent damage but I'm not sure how much trouble it would be to adapt that switch to this purpose.
