Hyundai has achieved it's first highest, five star rating, at EuroNCAP. Hyundai improved the cabin in the i30 and sent it on the test again.

The improvement was obvious and EuroNCAP awarded the i30 with 5-star rating.

Does it mean that all i30s bought in 2008 have new cabin (safety improvements) and thus 5 star rating?
Or will Hyundai do the modifications (??!) for "older" models?

I can't see a recall for our existing i30 models, unless problems arise in real situations. It would be nice though if the improvements could be retro-fitted during a service.

The big question for me is:

When did they begin fitting this modifiaction?

Perhaps many of us have it but don't know.
