made a new intake for Dogstars car, this time with an AEM bypass valve, its really not necessary, but with so many people seeming to think they are necessary i decided to make a prototype with one installed. cuz really, the customer is always right.

here are some pics
(IMG:http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b340/SupraDevil/other%20peoples%20cars/406d3b9e.jpg)
(IMG:http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b340/SupraDevil/other%20peoples%20cars/11c51f4c.jpg)
(IMG:http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b340/SupraDevil/other%20peoples%20cars/dcbf6adb.jpg)

had to trim the battery tray slightly on the one corner (no pics of that, naturally) the pipe is tight under the fuse box (fuse box could be shimmed to sit a bit higher if we find its rubbing too much) and its tight to one corner of the battery. but overall it fits nicely. its quiet under normal driving and makes a nice noise when you floor it.

for me one of the best things about this new intake is the simplicity to reproduce it for others later. still need to make a jig, reproduce another test piece and make sure it fits properly as well.

He isn't teasing, he just doesn't believe in offering crappy products before they are ready.

PM him and tell him you want an intake :)

The engine cover can certainly be kept..... our engines are kinda ugly, not that the engine cover is the prettiest thing in the world, but it is an improvement :D

Eh, a "must"?
I've gotta say that I disagree, but I don't know how high your filter sits, nor do I know how deep the water you were driving through was.

its routed differently to fit the bypass and make fabricating easier, the reason we did it how we did the first time was to avoid using a 45 degree silicone coupler since they are expensive. power gains should be the same or better since this intake has less curves and at the closest point to the engine is now silicone which won't heat soak like the metal pipe would have. i am also going to get the pipes powder coated as well, which will make a minor differance in keeping the intake charge cooler

Any starting price point you have in mind? And does it suck up water?

Cold air intakes don't suck up water. Engines that have their intakes submerged suck up water :P

And no, it doesn't suck up water since my old one with the filter even lower didn't suck up water.

if a person wants an intake quickly then the original from dogstars car is FS right now by him.

as far as these intakes go, i have to finish making a JIG for them, make one pipe to ensure that the JIG and template are good, then make them all up, then i'll take them in for powdercoating.
the cost of the coating will decide the price. once i have them coated and know the price i will post up a FS thread. there will be a max of 5 FS to start with.
