hey guys, brand new to the forum. I have done some searching but haven't had much luck finding threads on using an iPod in an 07 sonata. anyone have any suggestions or ideas using the factory radio? if not, what after market radio would you suggest, preferably double din.

thanks!

If you've got the 6 CD Changer, you can get about 42 complete cd's worth of music (give or take) if you burn MP3 discs. That's what I do.

that's awesome! unfortunately I don't have the cd changer. I recently converted my entire music collection (was in aac) to mp3 so I could use mp3 discs if I can't find an ipod solution.
i first test drove the elantra that had the aux input, but it was too small. i was kind of disappointed to find out my sonata didn't have the same input.

you're not the only one disappointed that the factory stereo doesnt have an Aux plug before the '09's. unfortunately, no, there is nothing you can do for using the factory stereo with an iPod unless you want to use a FM Modulator.. it will play through your radio, but it sounds like sh*t...

other than that, you will have to get yourself an aftermarket head unit with an aux plug or direct iPod input.. (that's what i did)

single DIN (got the dash kit to go with it, single DIN opening with a little pocket above the stereo opening).. was a Sony CDX-GT510 (had the aux plug in the front)... coupled with new speakers in all doors, a sub in the trunk and amp for the sub, its nice sounding little system.. heh..

Double DIN are 'mainly' for in-dash Navi or DVD systems..

any decent branded stereo over $100 will have some sort of iPod connector (either straight iPod plug or aux input)... and most of them are probably upgrades from the OEM stereo in terms of power...
