The problem isnt on mine as I don't have one on it but my grandma recently bought a 08 Sonata LE with one and it was working for awhile and then the screen just ended up showing like a white screen with a plus sign in the middle. Seemed like you could move it from one end of the screen to the other but other then that that was all it would do. She took it to the dealership and they tried restting it but it did not work. So I was just wondering if anyone on here had this similar or same problem with their navigation system.

You mean Limited? There is no Sonata LE that I am aware of...At least in the US. And the navigation was not a factory option until 09 when they redid the interior...(Somebody correct me if I am wrong)

Is that a dealer-installed Nav unit? If so, I doubt Hyundai supports it so I would start looking at the manufacturer's website (ie. Pioneer, LG, etc...)

Im guessing it was a dealer-installed navigation system and not a genuine Hyundai one. Navigation systems arent usually supposed to malfunction like that

A year or two Hyundai was offering it's own branded GPS as an add-on option. It was a rebadged Garmin Nuvi 360. My Aunt got one thrown in with her 06 Azera Limited.

I think they probably meant SE.

We have replaced about 5 or 6 of these in dash units due to similar display malfunctions, ranging from the display not working at all, to partially working, to not reading the map info. These in dash units are currently on backorder nationwide, but I would still take it in to your dealer so they can go ahead and get one ordered for the car.

I guess it's time for that first factory warranty repair on my car... My display got messed up and I'm not sure how to approach it. My 09 Limited V6 only has 1200miles on it and now I have to bring it in to get it serviced... :rant2: everything else is working fine except for the buttons on the right. The left side buttons everything displays.

That sucks to hear, but hey at least its covered. This is why I also chose to get one in the limited.

I was going to get one anyway aftermarket, less warranty and no integrated XM.

Great system too BTW, I have an 8gb thumb drive in the center console for a musical jukebox.

Yet another reason I didn't want an 09. I feel anything new on the market (the new redesign :P) At least the 08 had time for refinement. Besides, my little generic Chinese GPS has been working wonders :D

(I forget where I found the original background, but that's one I made to match the interior of my SE)
