Ok, so a few weeks back i installed a Spectre mass airflow intake, large conical filter size. I connected it directly into the hose that the mass airflow sensor is housed in, and the filter sits on top of the bottom of the factory airbox which i left in there so that i can get a cold air source. So tonight i was driving to my buddies house and i like the intake noise, so every now and again i would punch it so i could hear it. Well thing is usually the car accelerates almost immediatley after punching it.Well tonight it would rev up to about 3000 rpm and the car would go nowhere, almost as if it was on neutral. Thing is, it was in drive, foot wasnt touching the break, and everything else i can imagine of is fine. So my question is could it be one of a few things: A.) could my filter be heat soaking B.) My filter needs additional piping for more cold air C.) My trans is starting to go or D.) I need transmission fluid. Now i havent checked on the trans fluid cause its late, but im hoping that it isnt my trans. In a way it would be nice to get a new car but i dont have that kind of money right now. Anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Is the CEL on? Have you tried to read codes?

Does the problem go away when you remove the aftermarket intake and go back to stock?

I won't speculate on what it could be until you try going back with stock intake; but your symptoms don't sound like heat soak or warm air intake.

Good luck.
