can i use an OBD II computer to check if my timing is set correctly? i think that my problem with bad mileage and performance may be that my timing is off slightly. rather than go to a shop, id like to check this first if i can, and how would i know what a correct reading would be????

Not that I know of but a timing light would let you know pretty easily.

the OBD 11 will not tell you if the timing is correct nor will a timing light. the timing is controled by the ECU and can not be adjusted

Yes but if the timing belt is off a tooth the timing could be off and then a light would show it.

sorry you're wrong. the timing belt controls the valve timing not the ignition timing. the scanner would not pick this up on a diagnostic check
