I have a 2002 Sonata V6 and my mileage has dropped in the past few months. I used to average 18/22 when i bought the vehicle but i only get 14/17 now. I thought it was just bad gas and water moisture in the tank but it continues to give me problems. There is a loss of power and i cannot quickly accelerate without hitting 4000 rpm. I used the ScanGuage 2 monitor to log mpg and other parameters - no Error codes, water temp is 207F within 10 mins, rpm stays normal on idle at around 700-800. Any help would be appreciated.

Where is the fuel filter in this car, I cannot seem to locate it in the engine bay......is it serviceable ?

sounds to me like maybe some fuel injector cleaner is in order? get yah some "seafoam" from any automotive place too can put a little in the tank and put a little directly into the intake to help clean out the engine. dont do this in a garage or anything, youll wanna do it in a well ventilated area cause its gonna smoke it out. this might not solve your issue but it should help you get some of that milage back and its just a good idea to do every once and a while. idk how much you know about cars but if it were me, thats what i would try first.
