Hey did you ever find your Filters here in the States? I think Hyundai Dealers are the best, and the level of Service provided far exceeds my expectations. I have owned Hyundai products for 15 Years now, and have always been pleased. My first Hyundai, a junker Excel, came with an extended 7 Yr Hyundai Service Contract. We repaired things on that Bucket which didn't need fixin' You will find many Dealer Haters here. Some for a valid reason. I think my Hyundai Store (get a load of the size) is the best! I have to Travel 60 miles, and to another State (Arizona), but I like & trust them. And they are the closest shop in 110 Miles. With the FREE Towing, and Free Loaners Hyundai USA offers (not available at my Dealer :w00t: ) and the 5 or 10 Year Warranty, it is all good!

No I didn't find them. The only Autoparts dealer who carried the Sonata filter (NAPA) wanted the same as my home dealer (I get all parts less 15% on top) and we have no sales tax here so net they were cheaper at home. NAPA is having a big filter sale in September that I'm keeping my eyes pealed for - they are big in Canada. If it happens here then maybe I'll stock up. . Unfortunately the store that was mentioned here only has outlets in the east and mid west, nothing in Idaho or Washington, where I travel frequently. We have the 5year Pwr train and 3 year B to B here which is one of the best - only Mitsubishi with a 10 year pwr train is longer. I would not classify myself as a dealer hater - but I did have reservations about some of the dealer practices of finding "problems" where there are none, particularly when they are not a warranty item. I have done my own maintenance on all my previous cars because of past experiences - admittedly with North American manufacturers. So far so good, my dealer has given me the product I wanted, at the price I was willing to pay, didn't try to over sell me, and has installed my add ons (Mud flaps, wheel locks, etc) and given me good advice on the ones I have done myself. I have a guaranteed price on all the standard check ups right up to 60,000 mi. If they continue to perform like this I might never do an oil change again. I asked if they would like to do the service on my wife's Suzuki and they said "same deals as my Hyundai". I am probably one of their best non-commissioned salesmen right now because I can't stop bragging about my car and my dealer. Enough for now. Thanks for enquiring about the filters but I guess I'll just stay with the dealer's product for now.

Hyundai dealers are car dealers, like all and any car dealers, half of them are between mediocre and bad. They tend to play blind and/or deaf when you approaches them with a warranty covered problem.... They also try selling you all kinds of expensive stuff that you don't need. We've all been there, seen that, here in other places....
If you got a GOOD, dependable, reliable, honest dealership, both to BUY and SERVICE your car --- you're one lucky guy! :gitara: :gitara: :gitara:

You're absolutely right - I do have a great dealer! even if they were a few dollars more expensive - in my experience they are not - I would go to them for all regular maintenance. The only complaint is they have an automated service reminder system and they need to update it after I have made and completed a service. I'm still getting the machine a week after my service was done. However, if that's the only complaint - I'm in luck!

QUOTE(i360 @ Sep 4 2008, 05:21 PM) Hey, do your wonderful dealers call you (Or Hyundai themselves) after you've completed service? I've gotten 3 oil changes in the past and all were followed by Hyundai asking how my service was, what could be better and if I would go back there again. I find that great, albeit inconvenient at times lol, but they are looking to improve themselves.
Oh and I also like my local service dealer. Nice people and never a hassle.
I get a call from Dale (the service manager himself) usually within a couple of days. The only time he did not call was when I actually checked out with him and he asked me personally.
