HI every one,
I have to pop my cherry so it may as well e on a problem I have which I could really do with your help on please?

After planning on buying my 2nd Nissan X-Trail from New, I came across my car & couldn’t resist it.
I picked it up last week & am starting to hit 1 problem after another.
It’s a Tucson Xenith (a special Edition here in the UK of about 300 cars made)
It’s based on the 2.0 4WD CRTD CDX.

It had everything I wanted on my next car! & the money I saved from getting another X-Trail meant I could get some nice accessories & Sound System (another Problem for a later post) it’s has more ground clearance thanks to its 19” rims. & has had a fair bit of accessories to it from standard.

I bought bars all round, Power box via a tuning guy here in the UK! Angel Eye halo Headlights & matching Taillights. Silver Mesh Kit’s for the front bumper & radiator grill, the rear spoiler & I am planning on getting chrome rear window kit.
Finally a complete Alpine sound system. Media Station Head unit, DVD player, 12 disk CD shuttle TV tuner. 1set of R series speakers for the front & a set of S series for the rear door speakers, to finish it off, a 12” Sub with V12 1000W amp. So I have spent quite a lot to get it how I want it to look.

I am having everything on the outside put on by a friend at his garage. To save time I opened the bonnet to get to the headlight power connectors & noticed that on the engine top cover instead of having CRTD 16V it has CRDI 16v. I thought it looked odd so I tried to have a look round the engine bay for the turbo & couldn’t see it anywhere. So my 1st question is anyone who has a Xenith would be great!
But any owners out there with the 2.0 4WD CRTD CDX? Does you cover have the right info on it? Shouldn’t it have CRTD 16V? Can you tell me where the turbo is located? A Picture would be really great

I’ll start my grief with the audio system once I get the 1st problem sorted out:
Once it’s all done & I definitely have a Turbo diesel Xenith pushing out 182BHP with all the trimmings on as well, I’ll be a happy bunny in deed. Any help greatly received.

Hi Shaggypack and a Big welcome to these forums.

I am an avid Tucson owner and driver and am on my 2nd one now owning the 2.0 CRTi Limited Model (Thats what the engine cover says) its the same as a CRDT CDI but thats what they call it in Europe. We also have the Euro Mk !V engines which are VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) So we get that cover on the 138Bhp engined vehicles. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_geometry_turbocharger

Rest assured you have a Turbo see the attachment.
You can get a UK spec (Includes diesel) Manual from Admin at www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk. so come on line there as well for more info.

Ref your increases and modifications dont forget to tell your insurance co or they will use that opportunity to crawl out from under any claim you make.
The Tuning aid should be removed from your vehicle before it goes in for any work at the Hyundai Garage as that too can invalidate your 5 year warranty.
I will speak to you re that on Hy owners club as that information is particular to UK owners only.

I write on another two forums including this one so am glad to speak with UK owners.

Did I see that you call yourself a Cockney? (coz I'm one) Whereabouts from? alter your profile to include it on this and other forums as its good to know where folks come from.

Cheers for now

Itza
