EFAUtoUSA says this
QUOTE
The bottom picture shows the 4 door exhaust, the middle shows the 2-door:

http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai...ent-exhaust.jpg

So clearly neither of those are going to work with 2-Door 2008 Hyundai Accent SE. As I showed in this post: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=185230

Please anyone keep that in mind if you intending on doing that modification. It appears as if you're going to have to get a custom exhaust done.

Now I'm thinking about getting a custom catback done.
Do I need a resonator AND a muffler? (I'm thinking about a Magnaflow muffler)
What effects does "crush-bent" piping have on performance, as compared to mandrel-bent?

I can't find anyone that does custom mandrel-bent piping seeing as the machine to do that is extremely expensive.

Advice please :)

Take a picture of your muffler (where the hangers are), and it'll give you an idea. look here to see what MY hangers look like: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=185230

EFAUtoUSA says this

What effects does "crush-bent" piping have on performance, as compared to mandrel-bent?

Mandrel bend gives you extremely close to the same inside diameter all the way through bends ,crush or pressure bends narrow the pipe down in the bends .
The result is less flow because it can only flow as much as the smallest diameter of the pipe.It is possible to lose as much as a half inch in size,i.e. a 2.25in. will be around 1.75-1.825 inch.1/2 inch causes you to lose 1.5 square inches of flow area.
The ridges also can upset flow pattern and velocity.
If your handy with a welder you could order a mandrel bend universal kit off ebay for around $50 and cut where needed. You can join it with slip joints and add your own muffler and/or resonator. :57:

That sounds like a great idea. I happen to have access to a welder at school. Might have to take this route after I buy my muffler.

Evan, I know other people have suggested it, but you should build your own exhaust and then have a shop weld it together. It is alot easier than it sounds and you will save alot of money! Do not be suckered into haveing a shop build you an exhaust. I went through that experience on my first car and really regretted the work they did.

Get under your car with the tape measure and measure out pipe lengths. Also measure how many inches you have available for a resonator and a muffler
Get the biggest straight through resonator you can fit. And buy 2 180 degree mandrel bends (usually enough). I got mine from summit racing last time.

You can have a shop fit it all together for much cheaper than having them build the whole system. And make sure you specify that they use flanges, so you can remove the exhaust in sections in the future.

edit: NEVER get under the car when it is on the spare tire jacks!!!! I have almost died twice from the failing. Once a car almost fell on my head, then second the brake rotor missed my leg by inches. Use jack stands rated to hold more than your vehicle weighs, only on level ground.

and always put blocks up too with the stands so if the stands welds fail or the rivets fail your blocks will stop the car and save your life!

Good god, all I was saying is that I got a refund. But thanks for the overwhelming advice.

I probably will measure the lengths myself and buy mandrel bent pipe myself, then have the shop weld it for me.
