Oh and magically my window quit grinding. But the dealer is giving me crap about getting a loaner. "we dont have loaners unless the car is off teh road"

Seems like an airbag problem in a car I take clients out in would be a safety issue and the car would be off the road.

First place to get sued if I get in an accident with client in the car is my dealer and hyundai for not fixing it right the first time.

Did they make any adjustments on the window (probably all that needed to be done to begin with).

I would press them out on that issue. The biggest concern should be that of the customer's safety and even if it's to err on the side of caution...what harm does it cause to let a loaner go out the door for a couple days? I swear...some dealerships just don't get it.

I haven't brought it in, I canceled my appointment for today. They said the service manager wasn't around to make the decision on a loaner, I have too much to do today without a car. Its going in next wed. The window quit grinding on its own.

I went by the Lexus dealer in town the other day just to browse. Told them I was probably looking at a used LS430 when this car off lease. Asked them specifically about service. They'll give you a loaner no questions asked, even for an oil change. They have a fleet of 25 loaners. IS's and ES's...

Dealer service can make or break ownership of any vehicle. Sorry you've had to deal with the B.S. though.

Seriously...I don't have a problem with your posts where you detail your issues, that's information that others need to know in case they have the same problems. By all means, I'm all for disclosure of information...good, bad or indifferent. The venting...really, there's no place for all that. Honestly, I feel bad for you with the experience you're having with your Azera because (knock on wood) I've never had any of the issues you're having and I LOVE my Azera. Luck of the draw I guess.

There's no reason we can't co-exist in this here forum...

Took my Azera to the dealer this morning and they determined that the sensors in the passenger seat cushion are bad. They have ordered me a new seat cushion which will hopefully take care of the issue. I'll keep you posted.

Finally got mine in the shop today. They wouldn't give me a loaner or a car off the lot because they "don't do that". Well good luck selling anyone a 40k genesis if they can't get a car when their genesis breaks. I certainly won't be giving the another dime.

I went across the street to the BMW dealer and took a "24 hour" test drive of a used 535xi. Its one of their old service loaners, so its been well used, but taken care of. They warranty it for 5 years. Pretty tempting to get rid of the hyundai. The bimmer rides much quieter, handles way nicer, and has all the fun stuff like proximity key, push button start, nav system, for less than I'd pay for a new azera, and way less than a new genesis.

Hopefully they are replacing my airbag seat sensors, cause they already reset the sensor once and that didn't fix the problem. If you've been paying attention they just recalled all the 2006-2008 sonatas with the advanced airbags for the same problem were all having.

Good luck! BMW really isn't a bad choice, however...you've gotta go with premium gas and from my understanding...BMW is really strict about a lot of things when it comes to honoring their warranty, even down to the brand of tires you have to keep on the car. 5 year warranty is nice, but I've been spoiled by the 10yr/100K mile warranty I've had with my last two Hyundai vehicles. Also, be careful when it comes to oil changes with a Bimmer, not to mention the amount of money you're gonna drop when it comes time for a tune-up.

I do agree...there are a lot of Hyundai dealerships that have a long way to go if they are to be taken seriously when it comes to selling the likes of the Genesis.

I'm still waiting on the seat cushion to come in. It's supposed to be coming from a warehouse in CA and I think weather across the nation may have slowed it's progress here. Should be in any day and I'll set up my appointment to get it put in (along with the replacement e-brake cable that snapped on me). I do hope that replacing the seat cushion (sensors) will take care of the air bag light problem.

Yea... service costs are the concern with that. We'll see... I really doubt I'll buy it. One of our old employees works there, so it wasn't a big deal to swipe it for a day. I really just needed car. Haha.

Well....

Good news and bad news....

The idiots forgot to look at the transmission downshift problem and the whirring front end. They denied one claim for cracked leather on the headrest. Said my sun visor was fine even though it pops out of its clip all the time. They also just reset the **** airbag sensor again. I'm gonna have to bring it in when the light is on and not shut off the car so they can see what the **** i'm talking about.

They are however replacing the dash pad and the passenger door panel due to cracking trim.

That sounds very similar to my experiences at no less than 3 different local Hyundai dealers. WTF is wrong with these dealerships. They (service depts.) just don't seem to give a s#it about the Hyundai brand. Why are these service depts so quick to deny a claim. You would think they would want to push repairs especially warranty repairs since it means more money for the dealer and keeps the mechanics busy. I don't get it. Why did they deny the headrest claim?

I've had some problems with my Azera and I'm not feeling too good about the long term reliability of the car but the most troubling aspect of my first ownership experience with Hyundai has been the overall s#itty, indifferent attitude I get from the dealers.

I'll bet you a dime to a dollar when the "tech" rides with you he says something like "it is performing within specs" or it's "normal". I'm so frickin tired of hearing that from those a$$holes.

Yup... almost guaranteed. I just wrote letter to the service manager and the GM of the dealership along with CC'ing hyundai consumer affairs. Nothing will come of it I'm sure, maybe other than a phone call, but I'm gonna gripe about it and d@mnit, somebody is going to listen. There's not a chance I'll give that dealer another dime. I was a perfect shoe-in for a genesis after this lease was up, but with the way they run service, absolute refusal to give anyone a loaner, let alone a car off the lot for this crap, you can forget it. They can't sell 30k azeras, 40k genesis's, and 40k veracruz's without expecting people to b1tch about getting a loaner car for warranty work. This is officially my first and LAST hyundai.
