There are two things I like about it.... the direct throttle cable instead of the delayed fly by wire of the azera, and the factory installed aux input jack.

Direct throttle cable does have it's advantages, but...using shiftronic helps in dealing with the fly by wire shortcoming.

As far as the aux input jack...the new Azeras have it. I've got it in mine, but that's because I replaced the OEM head unit with an aftermarket unit.

Now you know you can use a wireless fm modulator if you want to integrate an MP3/iPod unit, right?

Could, but I prefer the sound quality of mp3's off the cd's vs a junky fm mod signal.

So...then burn yourself a bunch of MP3 discs and load each slot in your stereo...you can average 150 MP3's per disc if you use the best size to quality ratio and that's 900 songs over 6 discs. You can raise the burn rate, but you'll lower the number of songs you can fit on a disc.

The other alternative...use a wired FM modulator, but you'll have to take the stereo out of the dash to access the antenna lead.

I did like the day I got the car, burned a bunch of mp3 cd's. I was thinking an aux input would be nice if a passenger brought an ipod or something and we wanted a little variety instead of futzing with a tape adapter or fm modulator.

Ahhhhhhhh...well, you can still install a wired FM modulator and stash the connector either in the center console or in the glove box, or you can drill a hole and have it set up in that little cubby between the ashtray and shifter. Once the modulator is installed...no futzing necessary, just switch to FM and go to the selected station it's set up to work on and...VIOLA!

Considering what you're working with...you're gonna have to sacrifice a little to get what you want. Either that, or you can simply install an aftermarket head unit with USB/iPod connectivity as well as an aux input...choices aplenty out there and the prices are GREAT!

Burning the CDs isn't hard, but what IS annoying is that I frequently buy new songs. Change ones. Some I don't want to listen to any more. I also listen at my desk at home and my desk at work. So burning CDs every time I want to change or add to the repertoire is cumbersome at best, whereas just plugging in my MP3 player to an aux jack would be... well, what I do in my other cars. Oh well, it's not THAT big of a deal, just wish there were some aux jack even on the back of the unit, where one could even run a wire out of the bottom of the dash, whatever needed to be done. CDs do hold plenty of music, and fine to update once-in-a-while.

Trust me...I feel you on that, which is why I said...a sacrifice has to be made to get what is wanted.

I do hate it too, which is why I really burn most of my MP3 discs on CD-RW's. Yeah..slightly less space availalbe, but I can write over it anytime I wanna change it up.

Like I said...use a wired FM modulator, run the connector end where you want it to be and you're good. If you really wanna make it slick, drill a hole in the back of the strorage space below the climate control, that way you can keep the MP3/iPod unit hidden, but keep it readily handy too. Plus, a much shorter run of wire to worry about.

IF I keep the car, I'm doing a full blown AVIC install with the upgraded hard drive, back up cam , nav system, force the dealer to reprogram the transmission, and get a set of coilovers. Then maybe the car would be what it should have been in the first place.

The 30 GB AVIC is really nice. However, if you're going that route...please upgrade your speakers to get the full potential of the aftermarket unit. Trust me, you ears will love you for it! I'm sure you've seen my postings as to suggested replacement options, but in the end it'll boil down to what you want to go with.

Not sure about reprogramming the transmission. At best, they can clear the codes and shift patterns that the transmission has learned and start you over from scratch. You would have to find an aftermarket transmission place with the software to actually re-program the transmission. As lean and athletic as the Azera looks, ultimately...it was designed as a highway cruiser...that is really what the Azera is.

Sure wouldn't mind seeing a sport tuned version though. :whistling:
