Hello,

I recently purchased a 2009 Sonata and 2008 Elantra.

To use my iPod with the Sonata (to get full functionality) I needed to purchase a special cable that would connect to both the USB and Aux-In on the car. Otherwise, I effectively had a USB flash drive, with no iPod functionality.

I'm now trying to do the same thing with the Elantra. Obviously, there's only an Aux-in -- but, I'm concerned that a male-to-male Aux cable will also remove much iPod functionality. After searching on this board, I found the link to the Amazon product, but no one seems to indicate if that provides the full functionality of the ipod.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'll purchase the Amazon cable if - in fact - that will do what I need it to do.

Thanks!

Chris

It works pretty good. When you get the iPod cable that goes into the AUX Input. The cable gives you a really good clean and clear reception. Some songs are better than others.

I am about to try installing a product called PXAMG , for my 2008 Elantra this coming Saturday. It is supposed to provide full functionality by taking over the XM function of the car. It is basically unplugging the XM system and plugging it into the PXAMG and run a cable to your Ipod. I will hopefully remember to let the board know how it goes. About $220 so far with install from Best Buy.

Well, how much is it without installation??? It kinda seems a little high for a cable that substitutes the XM radio.
