well i was just up at the dealership about an hour ago and the parts chick said that hyundai shut down the SR cuz of lack of sales :|...i was saddened :(..anyone else know that?

i wanted to see if i could get the front lip from the SR kit..itd look boss on my car lol..i just want it black...goes with my plans...

so on that note..anyone selling theirs? LOL

Lack of sales? Hyundai Canada intentionally made it that way by producing only 500 of the SR model anyway. :blink: You mean to tell me they couldn't find 500 buyers for the SR?

i think they might still make the kit think about if they actually sold all 500 and 200 was crash need repaired if no parts that means they would be like SE Hyundai is not going to do that would they

she called hyundai canada...she asked if i could get the kit...neither the car or kit is available (im in Nova Scotia, Canada) (not in the hick parts either)

so im at a total loss haha....theres about 4 SR's around here and quite a few SE's and a TON of L's (<-mine being one of the few rare Tango Red's lol)

..and well im sure the repair parts will be available...BUT...i cant even buy the front lip...and thats ALL i want!.....stupid hyundai...i bet if i went into their storage theyd have a lip kit there lol

they discontinues the sr specific parts like the lip kit and anything else unique to that car other them performance.

they didnt discontinue the car per say because there was only a limited supply for them in canada. it was the only place in the world i beleive that sold it which, is incredibly stupid to limit a car like that to one region but iunno for sure if thats what they did.

but if that is the case then people who trash their sr's still have to have replacement parts availible until their warranty expires. so hyundai still makes them but they are probly only for factory sr only.

LOL stopped makeing the car, lol. There were only 500 made in 2007. I called my dealership, the kit is avialbe but only if your an SR owner. They had an extra 500 of the body kits created for repair and replacement of current SR's. It's about $2300.00 painted and done if not covered under warrenty, so yah I wouldn't look at buying the SR kit. Get one of the other kits out there. KFXperformance has a front end coming out and Onderground.com has a complete body kit as well. HMA has the lip kit aviable for much less, they just don't have the wheel wells.

hyundai was on crack to sell the SR for a ~$3400 or so premium over the sport model... that makes the SR, with tax, about $25k out the door. ridiculous, imo.

my car = sport = ~$18k + tax = $21k & change out the door.
sr = $21k & change msrp + tax = ~$25k out the door.

That's right you guys get the nasty tax thing. Nope 21K out the door in Alberta for me.

It was 26K for me... And Hyundai Canada told me they only ended up making 400 SRs in 2007. They made 200 Autos and 200 manuals. They should have made 50 autos and 350 manuals. My SR was the last available manual in the GTA.
