darn!! drving today i wasnt paying attention to the road cuse i dropped my wallet.

and this 50ish couple were slowing fast for the yellow light and i looked up.... i had just enough time to slam the breaks and swerve a little to the left cuse that lane was open, but alass there wasnt enough time.

the accent fair pretty well, the bug deflector broke and my hood is a little scratched up but once i get a new bug deflector. the bumper is ok, kinda. its pushed in on the corner and other then paint scrapes, the only thing i need replaced is the mounting hardwear. but im still gonna get a new bumper cuse then i can do the mesh properly this time.

there car how ever.... its a 2003 malibu and the bumper is a little bent up but no paint transfer ther major thing on them is the left rear wheel well is bent and i dont know how thats possible but what ever.

because im smart i have a 50 dollar deductale they have a 700 deductable. so im a bit **** about that. plus 25 bucks per point on my license which i think will be 4 so thats a hundred. and i have to pay for their loaner car. so im looking at about 1200 bucks... what an expensive lunch hour.

oh and my insurance goes up for three years.

the passenger complained about a sore neck so they might sue me iunno. i hope not. they would need to prove that an accident at 20 km/h can mess up your neck that bad. insurance is going to take my first born and eat it plus take my paychecks for a couple of months. after that... i should be good!

thanks for the concern

i dont think they can really prove that.. 20km/h isn't fast enough to cause a muscle problem, even whiplash i think is out of the picture.. but people will do what they can to get their money, so even if the both of them were of perfect health, the one jackass may fake the neck pain.
kind of an old routine from stories ive heard.
in any event, the insurance situation really blows. wish i could help you out dude.

that sucks.. be careful.. my coworker is the sue happy type. She is currently suing a girl who hit her in a parking lot going 10 miles an hour.

She claims since the accident she has had neck and back pain.. I even told her that it is bluff, she is 5'2" with DD boobies. That would give ANYONE a sore neck and back. I am gifted, and my back and neck hurts a lot of the time.

I was rear ended in my old car, and had no damage to my car. A week went by and their company called me and said they were sending me a 500 dollar check. I was like okay thanks.

All that matters is you are okay, and they are going to be okay.

Sure it is fast enough, especially if the other driver was hit broad-side. I would know lol

You aren't the only one that laughed. I hit an old lady in a 2005 Civic last year. I was driving a 2003 4-Runner. I had some paint transfer and a mis-aligned headlight. I think her's had to be towed. I was rolling too! I didn't even give it any gas. You know when you let off the brake in an Automatic and the slow roll you get...yeah that's how hard I hit her. Damned Civics and their plastic body panels!

^^ lol

so good news. because of the policy i have on my car i only pay 50 dollars. my insurance goes up next march but thats only 24 dollars more over 12 months so an extra 2 bucks a month. i have to pay the minus 6 on my license @ 25 bucks each so 150 but that doesnt need to be made until i get it in the mail. and other then that im fine. which is great cuse i thought i was severly screwed. and i found out in my car insurance that if the old bag sues me im covered for a million bucks and my insurance doesnt go up if my company has to pay!!!

there is no point for a pic. ill pull up an old shot of my car and point out where the damage is.

on the passenger side, the bottom corner of the bug deflector is broken off but its still connected. where the peice that pops out for towing is, there is a bend in the plastic that i can push out but because of the heat that day it wants to stay pushed in. there is alittle paint transfer. and the bumper brackets under the passenger headlight in bent to crap and the bumper bracket by the whjeel well is done in too.

so little damage that im mad there wasnt enough damage to total it cuse that would be sweet

yeah won't the accident diminish the already lowered resell value of the car?

Sucks to put the first dent in one . :imsorry:
I feel for you man,had a slight "incident" recently ,too.
I was sitting in a turn lane a couple weeks ago, light went green and the guy in front of me started moving,I let off the brake, started moving ,looked to my right just to make sure noone was trying to make the light at full speed as it had just turned.Looked back around and he had slammed on his brakes and stopped.I slammed mine on and just nudged him.Didn't realize he had a hitch sticking out the back.
AAAUUGH!!!
Scraped right on top of the bumper cutting paint as it went.15 months and not a scratch and then this. :rant2:
