Hi - have SF 2004 2.4L 2FWD and wondering if someone can say if this is correct behavior.
Idle RPM (after warm-up): 800
At about 75 mph : 2800 ~ 2900
At about 85 mph: 3200 ~ 3300

Gears: auto

Mine idles around 750.

Once the freeways empty out tonight I'll verify those figures; they sound close.

800 is the correct RPM for warmed up engine , I confirmed from 3 diff sources. However, it's the RPM when at non-idle condition that bothers me a bit.

Got it up to 75 and 85 for you last night.

It ran a steady 2900 in 4th at 75 and 3250 on the button at 85. You really have nothing to be concerned about.

Thanks... and hope you didn't get a speeding ticket! Appreciate it, esp. since you "broke the law" for my sake

You're welcome; and no I didn't get a ticket. I did the deed at 1:30 AM on an empty stretch of freeway where I know the cops don't monitor. Once I got the RPM value at 85, I slowed back to 65.
