I looked in my factory service manuals and the flasher unit appears to be in the relay box which is in the passenger compartment, under the dashboard, to the left of the TCM on the driver's side. Looking on my car, it appears to be above the back side of the hood release lever. That may be where it's located, but don't ask me how to get it out! Looking in the manual, I couldn't find a place where it elaborates on how you're supposed to get at it either. Looking at the diagram of the relay box in the manual, it may be marked "M21" and should be the second in from the right on the bottom row of relays. It may be more easily accessible if the panel below the steering column is removed, but can't say for sure. Sorry that's not much help.
