 The best thing to do is to get rid of the whole factory system. That is what I did. Firts I started changing the speakers and adding a powered sub, worked better but did not please my ears, been a car audio fan and installer since the 90s it is hard to any premium factory system to convince me. Then I added a kenwood excellon receiver with one of those oem integration adapter made by pac to lower the output signal goint into the factory amp, does not matter how I tried to fine tune the sound, could not get it to my taste. Last, I bought a Hifonics ZXI8008 5ch amp & a Directed 2500 eq. Those fixed the problem.
It is best to rewired the speakers instead of using the wires at the factory amp connector, it save you time and a headache. Even though the factory speakers are not as bad as in other cars the Pioneer premier coaxials & components made 100% improvement over the factory sound system. The only original part left in the car is the factory Sub which is not in use, anyway that factory sub alone in that big trunk did not provide any punch to the sound.
