The car died and quit running! The OBD code indicated a "cam position senser." Replaced it, no luck!!! Through further investigation, by removing the top portion of the timing belt cover I dicovered that the timing belt was not turning even though it was in tact. By rotating it by hand I found approx. 20 teeth missing resulting in the crankshaft turning but not the cam. I replaced the belt, water pump, tentioner, etc. Timed it according to what I think to be correct. Rotated by hand, everthing seems to be smooth.....took comp. check, 180psi plus (what should it be?) I don't think I have any bent valve's (I'm assuming) So I put the spark plug's back in and without putting the cover & acc. back on, I attempted to start it. Didn't start!!!! I'm thinking it's timing. In setting the timing I positioned the crankshaft at TDC. ON the cam sprocket there are 2 marks on 2 teeth highlighted by white paint. one is located right above the knock-out pin at 12:00, the other is 90 degree at 3:00. There is no corresponding mark on the head as suppose to be, at the 3:00 postion as all the illistrations that I have seen (3 or 4) indicate. So at this point I don't know why it won't start. Did I set the timing wrong? Is somthing else wrong? Please help if you can!!!
