Hello,
My 2000 sonata is getting harder and harder to start when cold or after sitting awhile. After it has been running I can turn it off and hit the key and it will start normally. Does this car have a "fuel pressure regulator?" I had a similar problem with a different car and that was what I had to replace.

Try simple things first or go have it tested to be sure. How old is the battery? What is the output voltage and current of the alternator? When was your last tune up? Are you using the right oil? Fuel would be in there way down the line and not the very first thing to check in this situation.
