Still waiting......wife has been asking the same thing - "When is Hyundai supposed to send the letter about the recall."

Seems like they are taking their good old time regarding a potential serious problem!! :(

I was actually surprised I received a letter about the Sonata recall in Saudi Arabia, I didnt take it in to service and surprisingly the Hyundai dealer called me! I guess Hyundai has really improved the service of there cars or the problem is really serious lol

That wasn't Hyundai Hugo. Those were the Canadian authorities still looking for you.

I assume you kept the same Cell Phone Number. Why exactly did you leave Canada again? :innocent:

I received the letter in June and have taken my car in 4 times to be replaced and it STILL has the problem. Taking it in for a 5th time tomorrow and getting a 3rd rental car for the week. Good luck to you all. Hope your problem is fixed quickly and correctly.

I checked my "Idriveonline.com" and this shows up as a recall. Dealers should get their proverbial poop together.

I got my letter today.

Hardly anyone ever sits in the passenger side.
What's the problem?

The problem is if typically a lighter person sits in the front passenger side seat, the "passenger airbag off" light won't go out. Therefore, the airbag might not deploy if there is a problem with the sensor.

I am taking mine in Friday. I got the recall notice (but no letter) and a call from my dealership a while ago. I've never noticed an issue with the passenger side airbag light, but then I've also never really had a small adult or child in the front seat.

Like I said, I've been trying to get this fixed for a while. Car keeps going back in the shop because the problem persists. Now Hyundai is thinking that I am sitting in the seat improperly causing the sensor not to see me in the seat. That's bull. Anyway, they are trying to locate a car just like mine to let me cruise around in for a few days to see if I have the same problem in a different car. What a headache. Good luck to those trying to get their car fixed. Hope you have better luck than me!

Hmmmm, interesting letter. When I bought my 06 sonata, they spent a few days before I picked it up to fix an 'under warranty" thing with the light for the passenger air bag on/off light. I thought it was just the light. Bought it in 07.

When did you receive the letter?
