So hey guys, I'm KillerSpaz...

I currently own an 03 Honda Accord, with a few mods (CAI, Eibach Prokit + Koni Yellows, Greddy Exhaust, stereo, internal bulbs are colorized).

Currently I do NOT own a Sonata, but have been doing my research, and the Sonatas seem like the best bang for the buck. Thish car will be primarily for my wife, so I'm generically thinking an i4 for her. She doesn't really NEED the power of the v6, but if I ever drive it, I'm going to be disappointed. So I'm still torn there.

What I'm *DISAPPOINTED* in, is the lack of 3rd party mods for these cars.
* I love my Greddy, and it seems like there's almost nothing for cat-backs (I think I saw a magnaflow, but that's cheap low grade crap I'll only put on my car as last resort... I don't like fart cans)
* A cold air intake is pretty much mandatory for me... So i'm currently looking for a viable solution. You've probably seen me spam some of the more current/active threads regarding this.

I don't really need these for her, but honestly, I enjoy doing the work. It also gives you a better insight to things under the hood while you're messing with all these components.

So that's all my plans for this car.. I was thinking of getting a His and Hers Sonata set, but i dunno yet... not sure i want 2 of the same car.... time will tell...

killerspaz,
What's up? I read your article and you are right, there are not as many mods available for the Hyundai line up as the Honda's. Honda has been full tilt in the mods game for such a long time, it seems like everyone has jumped on the band waggon. Honda also maid it incredably easy to inter swap parts from one model to the other, that is where they hit the jackpot when it came to import gearheads.
Hyundai has just started to come in to the serious american automotive world. They have a great product for end users, but not much for the import moders. The engine, interior, and mechanicals all are model specific and can't be interchanged, so aftermarket will not make much of something that is in low demand.
If your looking for a heavy Mod vehicle, than the honda's have a better availability. If your looking for a great Bang for your buck than Hyundai will pass every other manufactuer out there. If the vehicle is for your wife, than it would be a great move on your part, but don't expect to be doing major mods anytime soon. If the vehicle needs to have street credit bling, Hyundai might not be the right choice for you.

Good luck man, I personally would rather have the wife happy and fix up my own. Hyundai's are great EXPENSE SMART vehicles. They cost less for what you recieve in the long run.

Welcome to the forums and potentially to sonata ownership.

So.... magnaflow (which is stainless and quite high quality) is cheap low grade crap, yet greddy, which specializes in making some of the loudest exhausts out there isn't? :) sure... I'll agree to disagree :P

No, the sonata is not known for readily available mods, although the tiburon can be fitted out to your hearts desire... hoping when the genesis comes out, there will be more performance parts for the 3.8 which should swap onto our 3.3s as well.

Best of luck with your car choices, I'm sure the members on here will try to sway your decision :)
