I was wondering if any of you were interested in a group buy for a 200 amp 16 volt alternator for our cars? I don't have pricing yet but I will get it once I know there's interest

if i can get 10 people we should be a go. The good thing about a 200 amp. You can run car audio/ tv's pc's and gaming and be fine. :) I'm putting 2 tv's in the back headrest of my car :)

Stock is 90 amp. You can run very small subs and amp with it but it will dim your lights ect. You need 160 amps plus to really have a good system.

With the 200 amp alternator that runs 16V I think we will be able to power anything we wish. I'm going to have a 3000 watt amp in the car two subs 2 7" tv screens and a playstation, alpine deck, police radio scanner. Also I can hook up my laptop when I'm on the road too. It'll prob help aftermarket headlights too.

Your lights dim because your grounding system isnt up to par, 90 amp alternator will go a long way. In my last car (nissan) I ran a 600watt total system for over a year without issue. No dimming at all on the stock 80 amp alternator. I only upgraded my ground wires to 1/0, and my bat to alt cable to 1/0, with fresh battery connects.

wow how does wattage amount = lame?
and who said the 600 watts was going to a sub?
and please for my plebian mind, define "full car audio system"?

I have read alot of your posts on this forum, but this is the most unintelligent post I have read from you. If you disagree with my opinion, then prove me wrong and cite some resources. Come back at me with an intelligent rebuttal, because right now you just look ignorant with a limited understanding of car audio.

A system running a solid 600 watts (with gain levels set with a DVM, no guess work). Even including efficiencies of class a/b and class d amps (I am making the assumption that no one on this forum is running class a) you are looking at approx. 50 amps. with the car running 600W x 14.4V x 1.2(efficiency) = 50
Also remember current draw is volume dependant, you are only going to see max current at max volume if your gains are set properly. At reasonable listening levels you will typically see 25 percent of that current draw with spikes on heavy bass notes.

If you cannot properly articulate why your product is needed then why are you selling it?

I'm not selling anything. I haven't done car audio since 1997 I'm a little rusty. I wasn't trying to personally attack you.

Btw We all have our bad moments and If I offended you I apologize.

I'm not here to pick fights.

no they will work just like your normal alternator but with more power. Mine will be here soon and installed if all works well. I'll review it for everyone. :) I WON'T start the group buy until my review is done and hopefully it will show positive results.
