I own a 2001 hyundai accent 1.5L 2 door hatch back 5 speed manual, and ive done some upgrades like a much larger exhaust, cool air intake, and rims and tires. now i have been trying to find if anyone knows of some where i could get a disc brake convertion kit for the rear drum set up. and also if any one Knew wut the largest amount psi turbo i could put on my vehicle with the minimal internal upgrades i have done(heavier duty pistons and crank shatf, but not performance.)?

Even if you could, the added unsprung weight of rear disc brakes over drums cancels out any slight performance advantage they might give due to the Accents light weight and the fact that most of the breaking is done by the front brakes (all cars, including those with f/r discs).

A far as a turbo, don't waste your time. Too much trouble for too little gain on the stock engine.

If you want to go fast your money would be better spent on suspension and weight reduction. It's more cost-effective to work with the car than against it.

But if you have tons of money to waste then go ahead and get a turbo and rear discs. Although I don't know why you'd want to spend all that money on an Accent.

well i have already lernd that these vehicles reach very good top speeds with minimal upgrades. i got my accent to 145mph on a dyno. suspension has already been done and 3,000 dollars have been put in the engine and tranny. i just wanted to add a little bit more HP just am not sure how to do it. i have dual 3.5 in. exhaust and cool air intake i dont neccesarily need a turbo but anything that will give it a lil more power. if u know of anything that could help me let me know.

ok, thedonkey69 - why not try a bigger throttle body, bigger injectors maybe, but like bowsercake says, you are better off with suspension mods. power is nothing w/o control. turbo + stock suspension = scraping yourself off a tree. strip that **** out, put in coilovers, sway bars, camber plates THEN look at a turbo kit. if you do want to look at turbo kits, a korean company www.seoulfulracing.com does complete kits if you want to check it out but definetly do suspension + weight savings first.
