Has anyone ever gotten a spoiler put on the trunk by a Hyundai dealership? Do they even do that? I have a silver 07 Sonata SE and would love to get a spoiler for it. I do realize that I could buy one online but I want it installed at a dealer so that I can go somewhere if things don't work out. Do you know if holes have to be drilled into the trunk or if its just glue?

Thank you.

They'll have to drill holes. If you buy one offline and have a reputable shop do it any problems you have in the future will be taken care of. Installation wise.

BTW most dealerships farm out bodywork. Cut out the middle man. Save some money. Get bids.

That "lip" spoiler is the only style Hyundai offers.

We don't have a body shop, but we have put spoilers on Sonatas with no problem. The spoiler comes with a template to drill the holes in the trunk lid, so it's not really that difficult.

Hi again.

The Hyundai dealership I went to said they would put the lip on for over $300 and I also have the option of getting the "real" spoiler that they have in Korea for over $400. What do you think?

sounds like you're better off buying one from eBay and having a local person put it on.. would probably cost less than $300 total going that route... (lip spoilers from eBay are $125 shipped and im sure a local installer would do it for much less than $175)

Did you get this one? If you did the instructions tell you to drill a hole on the inside of the trunk housing to access the screws. You don't need to do that. If you remove the trunk liner you can sight right down the trunk lid to the holes in the trunk deck you drilled.

.....and make sure you drill the holes WITH the spoiler squished down in the center. Seems like the center wants to bow up when you tighten it down. FYI. It lacks a center mounting screw which would eliminate this bowing.

Finally got my spoiler installed today with the help of my neighbor. It was tough but we didn't run into too many problems. It looks SOOO good. I will post some pictures after I get the car washed. It's really dirty.

Thanks for the help, everyone! :)
