hello,

At the moment i'm using 10w-40 semi synthetic oil in my car as it is the recommended oil for my Turbo.
However i've seen in halfords that i can use 0w-40 fully synthetic oil from Mobil 1. I costs alot more so must be good. I want the best performing and protecting oil i can get.

Would it be better to use 0w-40s oil or should i stick to 10w-40semi s?
Or is there something better?

Thanks

No don't buy 0w-40! it's not any better for turbo application as only the cold side protection is one grade better as it's good enough already in 10w-oils. Stick at least with 10w40 oil. In turboapplications the mimimun oil is 10w40 but you can use thicker if you want to get better hot side protection.

I have used Castrol 10w60 viscosity couple of years with no problems in summer and winter. Not bad as they use this in Lancer evolutions and BMW M-series cars. (and bugatti veyron as we speak...) Check the oil level regularly ofteh though if you have hard driving a lot and prepare to fill it more and check about any oil leaks.

I am not good explaining these kind of things in English hope you understand what I was talking about..
