So I'm seriously considering getting the EvoFusion Catback for my 2008 Accent SE http://www.evofusionusa.com/TeamSR/Hyundai...nt-exhaust.html. It's not only affordable, but also all stainless steel construction, and Komptek reckons it'll net about 5-10 more horsepower, which would be very nice.

It says
QUOTE
Installation is very easy for any exhaust shop, or even someone mechanically inclined, as there is no cutting or welding needed to install.
so how much money do you think I should be looking to pay someone to install it for me? I would install it myself, but I don't have one of those big fancy lifts, unless you don't think I'd need one, in which case, how could I install it myself?

ALSO, do you think installing a catback would void any warranties?

Thanks!

A lift would make things so much more easier but I'm sure you can just jack up the car with a normal jack

It's pretty straight forward man, but do get some jack stands. I prefer ramps if the car isn't too low to get on them. they are alot faster to setup then stands, but either way it isn't doing anything but replacing some basic hardware, nuts n bolts etc...it is easy you should try it. I wouldnt pay a shop more then $50US to do it, with a lift it is a piece of cake.

How loud is this setup? I would like to do something along these lines but at 36 yrs of age i dont want a fart can :whistling:

Jackstands can be dangerous and so can ramps. Welds can fail and it has happend lots of times. To be totally safe use some concrete blocks besides the jackstands so if they fail the blocks wont!

Thanks! Yeah, I probably will pay a shop to do it, but I won't pay them any more than $50 since everyone is saying it is so straightforward.
Here's a video of the exhaust I found on youtube. It doesn't sound ricey at all to me. Doesn't have that nasty buzz or anything :) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=33...QKx2pmoBQ&hl=en

Oh.. also. Komptek (or anyone else).

With the horsepower increase, where in the power band do you think I'd see it most? I think the lower RPMs, especially in 1st gear are the weakest part of the Accent as far as acceleration goes.

So i just called a bunch of places and got estimates for installation of my catback exhaust, which is supposed to be a direct bolt-on system.

Here's what I've found (in US currency):

Monro - $88
Midas - $139
Meineke - Bring in the car for a free estimate.... = no thanks lol

HOWEVER, I found 2 local car shops:

Hoopers Auto Service (phone was answered by a 12 year old girl and got her "daddy" LOL - $ 55-75
Blank's Auto Service - $ 100

I actually found another place in Phoenixville called M&H Transmissions and whatever and they'll do it for 55-75 as well, but they're a **** of a lot closer. DEAL ! :D

and since my birthday's on Monday, I might actually have enough money to afford installation LOL

Sweet. My vote is to go with the cheapest. when they are finished you will know very quickly if it isnt installed correctly. Either there will be a loud hiss(exhaust leak) at one of the connecting points, seriously get under the car to hear this, or it will not be mounted to the hangers correctly and you will be able to easily wiggle the entire exhaust assembly from the muffler back, again under the car.
