I'm trying to find a way to ground the dvd player so it will play dvd's while driving. I have a two year old son and it would make long trips much easier... I have searched google for hours and still nothing. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat & can't find anything....I have contacted my local audio shop & they said they can look into it, but it would probably be at least $200 just to find out!!! Someone said something about the speed wire, but I was wondering if this would mess up the GPS, or if it had a sensor seperate for it???? Any help would be great also, b/c I have a 18 month old & just don't want to do the headrest monitors yet!!

It's also very illegal.

If you can make it work, don't get caught and don't tell em you found the information on here please.

Man I could have used this yesterday!! I was stuck in traffic & they had the interstate shut down :( So we were sitting there watching the DVD!!!! Only problem was we moved inches & everytime I took it outta park, it shut off the pic till it was back in Park. Does anyone have like a diagram or anything they could maybe email to do this, of course if it isn't that complicated!!

take it into a big box electronic joint (BB or CC) with stereo installers. Takes about 10 mins to do. Likely you pay them off books. I paid $20 to have them do it in my old car.

If you are a DIY person, pull the wiring harness off the unit and ohm each wire to ground. The one that toggles from open to closed with the parking brake is the one going to the parking brake switch. Just ground it. You may find the pinout of the stock harness by looking at aftermarket harness adapters.

Yea I called Circuit City & they wouldn't do it :( I also called another installer in town that is very good & they said they could do it if I found out what needed to be done so this might help!! I wish we had a diagram that would show which wires that need to be grounded.

Nice to hack feature, but I think should be left alone, it's there for a reason. Why not just get a portable dvd player to put in the back? It's cheaper then if you get into an accident.

To the best that I can tell, the video stops when the car is not in park....with or without the parking brake, and at zero speed.

Yes I found that out this weekend when I was stuck in a traffic jam!!! The DVD will only play when in park, once out of park even not moving it won't play. Also if it is in neutral it won't play or with the parking brake on & stopped in gear. Only time I could get the picture to show up was when it was in park!! I don't necessarily want to watch it going down the road, I really just wanted it to work, b/c I though there might be a way to do it easily????
