Just had an engine replaced and now I am leaking tranny fluid. My mechanic said that when my engine locked up it must have put a crack in the torque converter causing it to leak. I know that it is not a problem with the tranny because when I put fluid in it runs good. Is this possible? I don't know if it would be some kind of mistake my mechanic made when replacing the engine. It just does not seem right. How much would I have to spend to get a new torque converter?

Can you tell where specifically that the fluid is coming from? It may be your axle seals, this is common.

It's coming from the front of the car. That is all I can tell.
