Absolute waste of money.

Think about it, do you not think that manufacturers would be all over these gadgets if they actaully worked?

Do get sucked into that crap. Just drive slower.

Synthetic fluids in your engine adn tranny would be the best fuel saver you can buy. Those cheap things you see on TV are just as they say, junk.

Drive slower (stay within the speed limit) on the highways and you'll notice a huge improvement.

In town, avoid jack rabbit starts, leave extra room in front when following traffic to avoid constant breaking/accelerating, don't jockey for position in traffic, slow naturally when approaching caution/stop lights; and plan in-town trips to (shopping especially) to reduce the number of times you're out driving around.

Using this approach, the mileage we're getting is:

-- City driving 10.5 L/100km, or 26.9 IMP mpg, or 22.4 US mpg

-- Highway (at 100 kph) 8.5 L/100km, or 33.23 IMP mpg, or 27.67 US mpg

We just turned over 19,000 kms during the past year.

And use cruise control on the highway, i'm getting 28 mpg at times taking extended trips.
