I have a couple questions.

First where is the factory amp in the sonata?

The reason why i am asking is because i am planing to splice the remote wire and speaker lines from it.

I could do that right?

Splice the remote on and put it into my amp and then splice the speacker wires, use a line out converter, and i am done?

No, you're not done. To power your amp you need a BF wire directly from your battery to the trunk. Never attempt to use a factory wire to power an aftermarket amp.

If you're willing to do this much, you can certainly use the factory remote wire as well as the amp input and speaker output wires to get the signal from the factory radio to your amp's input. You can also use the speaker wires to get the sound back to the door speakers. Don't use a line out converter to do this; just make sure your aftermarket amp has line-in connectors. Most amps these days do.

The factory amp lives on the right side of the trunk in back of the wheel well. You'll have to remove a lot of the trunk lining to get at it. Don't mount your aftermarket amp there; there's not enough air circulation.

You DO have the 6-disc radio, don't you? If you have the single-disc radio there's neither amp nor wiring in the trunk.

Yea i know all about running the fused power line from the battery. I was just looking on how to setup the remote wire connection since im going to be using the stock headunit.

I guess i don't have a factory amp since i got the 1 cd changer and my amp that i own dosn't have line-in connections. It's an older setup im transferring into the car.

For tge RCA connection I guess i'll just splice the connections from the rear speakers into a line out converter to get the RCA plugs. Why do you recommend to run the rear speaker connection directly to the line out converter and then back to the rear speakers from the amp? I've just used the 1 extisting connection for both the rear speakers and the line out converter and it worked fine.

So i guess i have all the other stuff taken care of except the remote wire. Would you know if i have an existing wire in the the factory headunit or will i have to tap it off accessory power?

What would you recommend for the remote wire?

I'm glad you know what you're doing.

Since you don't have an amp in the trunk, you'll have to run all the wires.

The best setup for you is to buy a Scosche FD23B, which plugs into your factory harness and a FD23RB, which plugs into the back of your factory radio. Having the two adapters lets you do several things:
* Tap any wire you need, such as the amp remote
* Connect the speaker outputs from the radio to a line-level converter (which you DO need with a 1-disk)
* Extend the speaker wires back to your amplifier
* Connect all wires you don't need; sort of a pass thru

IIRC, the adapters come with a diagram showing which wire is what.

For pin diagrams it's best to register on the HMA Tech site. Be sure to install the Adobe SVG plugin or all the drawings come up as empty boxes. Fish around in the shop manual and see if you can find the radio plug's diagrams.

You'll also need the diagrams on the HMA Tech site to get the panels off and back on safely.

 If this is unclear, PM me and I can try to explain it better.

Why would i need that adapter?

I could just go to the rear speakers, locate the wiring going into them, cut off a little bit of the rubber, twist speaker wire into the exposed part, patch it up with electricle tape, repeat for the remaining Rear Left (+,-) and Rear Right (+,-), then connect those into a line out converter.

So the RCA plugs would be taken care of, the power taken care of, and all i would have left is the remote wire.

Then i found this on the internet.

I could just take off the dash, go to the back of the stereo, and wire the remote wire to the black/pink wire. If i don't have that wire i could just wire it to the accessory harness which should be next to the ignition.

If all else fails, i'll just run a line off the battery, into a switch, into the remote wire slot on the amp and turn it off and on manually.

EDIT: I see, i could just do it from the dash instead of the rear speakers but wouldn't connecting all the other wires besides the ones i need make it worse since when i'd tie the wires together they wouldn't connect as good?

I dont think you want to power the factory speakers anymore than whats already going to them. They are only rated at 20watts (I just removed one and thats whats stamped on it)!

Even if thats an RMS rating the peak would only be somewhere around 50.

Im no expert but you could try shooting our fellow audiophile Dogstar a question.

I dunno whats goin on here, but it smells like confusion. Make life simple.

Are you adding a sub and sub amp, or do you want to amp all of the speakers?

I would do as dennis suggested and use two harnesses, so that you can avoid hacking the factory harness, plus it will give you some extra length to play with.
Tap into the speaker wires for a line out adaptor, splice onto the Car Stereo Antenna Trigger: Green/Black or Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Pink/Black or even Car Radio Switched 12v+ Wire: Orange/Black for your remote turn on.
Run a 16 gauge wire for turn on, and some RCAs down the door channels on the passenger side, with power on the drivers side and call it el completo!\

Oh yeah, unless they changed things for 2007, the amp location listed in that wiring diagram is wrong. It's hidden behind the trunk panelling on the passenger side of the trunk.
Quite a nice location for mounting a compact amp actually, and good for Sirius/XM boxes and other aftermarket gizmos.

just a sub and an amp but on the factory radio. So i need to splice the speaker wires to install a coverter that will give me rca outputs.

Also, do you guys know the steps to remove the dash and possibly a door panel?
