I'm looking to get an exhaust tip for my 2008 Accent SE, but I have no idea what the exhaust inlet diameter is. Yeah, I know, I could use a tape measure, except I don't have one because I'm an idiot. I can't find anywhere online where someone has said for sure what the size is. I'd rather not spend the money and find out it doesn't fit.

Thanks!

i think it's 2 inches or so, make sure you get one that bends out parallel with the ground, if it points to the ground its gonna look weird imo

I found a ghetto ruler in my bedroom, but by golly it works.

The exhaust I.D. of a 2008 Accent SE is 2", with about 8-10" of clearance from the ground (with ground effects kit).

Go with an after market muffler and have them install it vertical with the tip on the bottom. It will make it even with the bumper and wont slant down. I had my magnaflow muffler with the exhaust tip put on for $210.00 w/labor and i love it. Looks awesome too. I'll post pics when i have the chance but i'm running late for work now..

Nah, no offense, but I live in Philly and there are SO many ghetto trash people here that have aftermarket mufflers. I'm so sick of them. I did however stop by AutoZone today and picked up a "dual exhaust-looking" muffler tip. I'll post a pic later tonight. It looks really good and lines up well.

EDIT: Here's a picture of my new muffler tip! Please comment on it, positive or negative.

Don't really like it. The after market muffler isn't as 'ghetto' as you would think considering you went with trying to fake people with the duel exhaust tip. Around California, since everyone is doing exhaust and muffler modifications, they call the tip wanna be ricer if the exhaust is still stock. Although if you like it, great cuz thats all that should matter.

Since the muffler is to ghetto for your taste.. There is also the option of removing the muffler in general (depending on the smog requirements in your state), widening the pipes, and then adding a resonator. I believe it would of cost the same to do as adding the muffler if not a little more, and possibly had the muffler shop add a REAL duel exhaust. I was really surprised on how inexpensive it was to have someone work on the exhaust and half of the cost was labor.

Only reason i went with the muffler was the shop showed me what the car would sound like without the muffler, and told me the resonator would quit it down a bit, but I was too scared to go with that option and end up not liking it. Then i would pay double to have it fixed and add the new muffler on. It adds a little better get up and go, and sounds the part for our little engines (gives it a little more aggressive sound). I even notice my SRI is a bit louder when i need to accelerate since the install.

I went with a tip as well, but i still wanted the single pipe look.

sorry bro but that looks ghetto, no offense at all.

kat that mufflers it's too small, i don't know but it looks weird for me. i was thinking maybe a a little bit bigger muffler and then cut the bumper to hide the bottom part. thats my 2 cents

the put the largest one in my car that would fit. Under there is pretty small.. we were talking about options to cut into the bumper but that will be future mod that will be going full custom.

hey blood...thats looks ok, but its as close as being a "FART CAN" without modifying your exhaust. But as Kat says its what you like.

and Kat i like your setup...looks nice, not too flashy but get the job gone!  ohh and i like your license plate cover...LOL :whistling:

I kinda like it. I saw it like this:
I spend $5 and I get the dual exhaust look = neato.
I spend $200 and I get a muffler installed that attracts attention (having 6 points on my license already, I decided more attention is a bad thing... especially in Philly, where they will pull you over for anything, illegal or not) and possibly will give me a couple more horses.
The fake look won (for now) :)

I just had my muffler replaced with a round 6 " turbo for $50 .Sounds great ,lil improvement in mpg's(with intake),a lill extra get up and go,but the tip turns downward and looks stock. Would love to find a tip that looked like Kat's. Sounds more agressive ,not fart-can "ghetto" like all the ricers.
But hey if you like what ya got ,great .Being different is what modding is all about.
