Yes the ECU is the "silver thing" lol. It is mounted to a bracket that is also the bracket that bolts to the bottom of the airbox and holds the airbox in place as well.

As for the license plate lights, I have no idea, I've never even looked at it.

Nice Challenger, but it's still a Dodge.

Hey man, I'm wondering the same thing. I have LEDs galore from my previous car and I wanna transfer my HID White LEDs to my license plate, but I can't figure out how to get those **** screws out lol

I got to the rear license plate bulbs by removing the rear interior panel on the hatchback. After the panel is removed you reach your arm through the access holes and rotate each bulb socket and pull it out.

To remove the panel, remove all the screws and then pull the panel off releasing it from clips. Be careful not to stress the plactic too much to you may suffer breakage.

cool, thanks. yeah, I tried removing the screws, but i was afraid of breaking off the plastic because it was putting up fierce resistance to pulling haha. I'll give it a second try.

just work your way around the panel. I started at the side and worked my way around the bottom. I do recall finding the clips on the top half more difficult to release.

I wanted to change out a few bulbs too, like the blinkers to make them less yellow, can we use any bulb as long as it's the same size?

You can, BUT if you don't use the 2357 or whatever, and you opt to use a 1157, it WILL work, BUT it will not be as bright because they use different amperages. They will however function properly, they just won't be as bright if you don't use the proper bulb type. Trust me, I tried it yesterday.

Oh, and also... I installed my HID White LED license plate lights today (transferred from 98 prizm without a hitch, though they are HARD AS **** to get your fingers around, even with smallish fingers). Will take a pic later this evening as it gets dark.

HID??? WHite Led? do you mean Bright White led cause if you had HID you need a ballast for your rear license plate light and that is just a bit over kill

So you have to open the hatch and unbolt and unclip the pannel and unscrew the tail gate cover so you can have access to the License bulb

Right you are, thank you for the clarification :)

ALSO, if any of you are in the market for LEDs for your car, please check out V-LEDS.com. That's where I have gotten all the LEDs for my car and they are VERY high quality. Expensive, but well worth it!

As promised, here's the picture of my license plate HID White LEDs from V-LEDS.com...

Follow Mr Blank's directions and you should have no trouble... to summarize, unscrew the 4 phillips head screws from the inside of the hatch door. then, starting on either side, CAREFULLY pull gently until you hear/feel a pop, then continue popping it out until you have removed the plastic panel.

The hardest part is getting the **** light sockets out from behind all the metal crap. HINT: you have to twist them CLOCKWISE to get them out, and COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to put them back in... that took me forever to figure out since it's the opposite of American standards.

Then carefully line up the plastic piece again once youve replaced the lights (and made sure they work before putting them back into place) and snap it back into place. Put the screws back in the panel and VOILA, your car looks HOT.
