I hope someone can help. :liebe011:
Nature has moved into my Santa Fe (2007 model) roof rack. I can only speculate that the gray color of the car might have made it easier to mistake it for a nice fat rock in which to build an ant nest.
After 1/2 day of parking the car a full ant colony had moved into the roof rack. I have tried to flush the guys out and placed ant traps for 1 week now but so far without success.
No I plan to remove the rack and flush the area properly. If the rack itself and the cross bars are not hollow (or properly sealed) there might be a chance that the ants are only nesting in the 4 caps sealing the rack itself in the front and the rear of the car.
Can the front and rear caps be taken of? if yes how is this done (I don't want to damage anything)? I can see there is a gap between roof and the cap (this is where the ants come out).
Thanks for your help.
