Just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem which happened to me this week. I left the house to go to work. I lost overdrive for the day. The engine light came on and there was no overdrive. Car was running fine before that. The next day I got overdrive back but the engine light was still on. Car ran fine. When I left work that evening the engine light was off and seems to me the car ran just as good as it did before. I'm going out today to see what I can find. I have a 2001 Accent GS w/ automatic transmission. I drive 38 miles one way to work. What do you think? Vacuum line, electronics, just a glitch for the day? Just wondering if it has happened to anyone else.

Thanks
Sean

This actually did happen to me, i have a 2000 Accent GL 1.6 dohc, and it came on, and went off, constantly, had to pay dealer 100 dollers for them to scan my car (aparently its like hella better than autozone, yet it said the same thing)

:Short Term Fuel System Lean: or something

Most likely just something in the vacuum, nothing that big, insurance covered all mine.

I found that the wire in the shifter for over drive button gets shorted out because of poor location of wire from o/d button to shifter. While moving the shifter from park to drive thousands of times will actually tweak or fray the wire. Thats something to look at. :)
