I hate to be a downer, but its really hard to get a Hyundai to be really fast in a straight line, even the 1.6L. However, there are some basic things you can do without spending too much money. You have your basic intake and exhaust + headers. You could also get cam gears, fuel injectors, fuel pump (walbro or other), and a piggyback fuel management system (Emanage Blue, HKS, SAFC). This will get you some more horsepower. If you want to go all out you could get reground camshafts, overbored pistons, knifee-dged crank, oversized valves, port intake and more. Another route would be to get a turbo but depending on where you live it will be hard to pass smog, and its much more obvious that you have a turbo, whereas you can hide aggressive cams and engine work.
Personally, I'd just get coilovers, and remove some of the interior to lose weight (don't touch A/C or Power Steering, its not worth it). You could get a roll cage to increase chassis stiffness. Then get yourself some track time, experience is worth more than any mod. Something along the lines of Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, Road Atlanta, etc.
